The Boat

The Mist class is a 63ft Cruiser stern narrowboat that is part of the 'Falkirk Fleet'. It sleeps up to 8 people, ideal for families and groups.
 

BOAT DESIGN FEATURES
All of our boats have full radiator central heating with hot and cold running water supplied from a 100 gallon water tank.

We also include a double filtered drinking water system. The Spirit class has a 2kw Inverter that supplies 240 volt electricity to certain appliances and 2 x 240v sockets on the boat. There is carpeting in the saloon and bedroom. Also features a security box / safe (except from Gailey).

BEDDING ARRANGEMENTS 
Sleeps up to 8. Two cabins. The rear cabin has two fixed bunks and the mid cabin can be configured as a double bed or 2 single beds.

The seating area in the saloon can be converted into a double bed in the evening, if required.

There are wardrobes located throughout the boat (see layout options) for storing clothes. Freshly laundered bedding for each crew member. Additional bedding available on request.

 

WELCOME PACK
Includes: 1 bottle of washing up liquid, 1 dish cloth, 1 tea towel, 1 floor cloth, toilet roll & bin liner. Helmsman's waterproofs & umbrella.

BATHROOM
Two bathrooms, both with a wash basin, flush toilet, and shower. There is also a 240v shaver socket.

KITCHEN
Fully equipped galley with 4 burner gas cooker complete with grill and oven, refrigerator, sink and drainer, work surfaces and storage space. Microwave, toaster and cafetiere. Saucepans, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery etc included.

ON BOARD FEATURES
Free Wi-Fi, Radio CD player with USB, LCD TV and DVD player, hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, 12v socket. 1 medium size towel per crew member, plus 1 hand towel per bathroom.

INCLUDED FROM FALKIRK
When travelling from Falkirk, they will give you a skippers guide upon arrival with all the information you'll need for your chosen holiday route.

FUEL
The boat is handed over ready fuelled with a full tank, but the cost of hire does not include the fuel consumed.

A fuel deposit of £110 per week or £60 per short break is payable 8 weeks before the start of your holiday with your balance of hire. When you return to the marina at the end of your holiday the boat will be refuelled and any difference to the deposit you paid will either be refunded or charged.

CANCELLATION PROTECTION
It is recommended that you have your own cancellation protection insurance in case you have to cancel your holiday.

HIRE TIMES
Collection and return times from Falkirk are different to all of our other start locations. 

Weekend Hire - Saturday - Collection time is 1.30pm, return by 2.30pm latest on Tuesday.

Mid-Week Breaks - Wednesday 9.30am until 9.30am Saturday.

7 Nights Plus - Saturday 1.30pm, return by 9.30am on Saturday. Wednesday 9.30am until 2.30pm Tuesday.

PETS
Pets are more than welcome on board our boats. All pets are FREE. (normally a maximum of 2 pets allowed per boat)

ROVER TICKET FROM FALKIRK
If travelling from Falkirk, a Rover Ticket will be charged by Scottish Canals for use of the canals. This will be a flat charge of £25 for any holiday over 3 nights. If your trip is 3 days or less, you will be charged £15. This ticket will be administered by Scottish Canals and payable on the first day of your holiday via the Falkirk Office.

The Scottish Lowland Canals are quite different from the canals typical of England and Wales The Forth and Clyde is much wider than the average English canal. The Union Canal is a contour canal and has no locks at all or bridges that have to be opened.
