The first electric narrowboat to join the fleet

Operating from Kings Orchard Marina on the Coventry Canal near Lichfield in Staffordshire from 3rd April, we are launching our new all electric day hire narrowboat, the first electric boat to join the fleet.

‘Perfect Day’

A 36-foot day boat that accommodates up to ten people, has been in development for 18 months. The boat is fitted with lithium batteries which power a 48 volt Beta Marine 10Kw motor. Charging and energy management are provided by products from our Onboard Energy off-grid energy range which can be purchased online at www.onboardenergydirect.co.uk

Haley Hadley, Marketing & Sales Director says: “We are delighted to launch our first electric narrowboat, the first of nine new electric day boats to be added to our fleet over the next 18 months.

“The waterways are havens for wildlife and many of our customers are interested in taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint and environmental impact. From Kings Orchard Marina, day boat hirers can cruise through the Staffordshire countryside to Fradley Junction or Bonehill and back. No previous canal boating experience is required and tuition is included in our day hire prices."

Facilities aboard

‘Perfect Day’ includes outdoor and indoor seating, a toilet, a kitchen with induction hob and grill, a sink and fridge. Dayboat hire aboard ‘PerfectDay’ starts at £99 on a weekday, and only £189 on a weekend or bank holiday.
