Boat and service excellent. Fridge would be colder if run on gas. Battery potentially an issue. Modern clean boat with well fitted kitchen, comfy beds and good ensuite shower rooms. Handover informative, staff kind and helpful. Trip fabulous. Would recommend ABC Boathire.

We have used ABC for the past 10 years. March marina really does top the lot for helpfulness. We’re going back to Brecon and Monmouth next year. We no longer do 100s of locks in a week.

Lovely and very well equipped boat (a Lark), and friendly and cheerful customer service staff. We didn't get to Blackwater marina until 1645 (3-hour delay on motorway!), and the team were incredibly understanding both when we rang to let them know, and when we did arrive. Good explanation of doing locks (I was the only person in our group with any previous canal experience). Everyone when we returned the boat was also helpful and cheerful. And when I booked, ABC discovered that I'd previously used them, from a different marina, eight years previously, and offered a small discount - impressive.

The boat needed some work and seemed tired based on other similar boats and trips we have taken with ABC. There was a water link in the roof in the kitchen and the fridge had an off smell. The mattresses were tired and need replacing.

It's a shame but last time was so good this time the boat was not cleaned very well and even the grill had food remains in it. When we told them we were told what do you mean its been cleaned the cleaner came out and said it was not done very well. Not ABC fault but the toilet was blocked with wetwipes *not from us) that stank the boat out and kept fusing the toilet but we were made to feel like it was our fault on the calls we made. On return we were just looked at and was told don't you read the signs saying no morning but not told where to .go. Most of the staff were friendly and polite but not all. Two years ago we did the Stafford ring spent less than £90 on fuel this time we did the Avon ring and it cost £200.
