The boat was not clean, smelt of dog in the kitchen area and had to be disinfected. There was a pot of tea in the cupboard, and tea or coffee stains by the tiller. The stairway from the tiller was also stained and dust and fluff beneath it. The vacuum was dirty.

Great boat and staff very helpful. Good tuition on locks and looking after Sigrid. Needed more help planning suitable route.

The Booking Office are always happy to assist with route planning at the time of booking and we do suggest buying a map prior to the holiday so that you can familiarise yourselves with it before arriving at the Marina. The boat was perfect for our needs and we’ll maintained with good facilities. ABC provided lots of useful information beforehand to help us get the most out of our week. The K&A canal between Devizes and Bath is stunning.

From the moment that we arrived, the staff were friendly and courteous. The handover was comprehensive and fully informative. The boat was in good condition, comfortable and well-equipped. We had a couple of reasons to call the office during the trip, and both our questions were expertly handled. For some reason, we required a toilet tank pump out (unexpected as there were only 4 of us on a 6 birth boat- maybe one of the tanks wasn’t fullly emptied at the start). This was efficiently arranged, and conducted as planned. The canal trip itself was lovely, the scenery wonderful, tunnels, locks and aqueducts. Would thoroughly recommend. Suggestion would be to provide walkie-talkie for communication between stern and bow of boat, also on the narrow stretches of canal

The reception staff who showed us to the boat were very friendly and helpful. The boat was clean and provided everything we needed, even complementary tea and coffee to welcome us aboard. We were first time boaters in our 70's but Dave the engineer who instructed us on all aspects of the boat and how to handle and manoeuvre it took away any feeling of apprehension or stress with his friendly but professional approach and cheerful banter. We, together with our dear Jack Russell Molly, had a very enjoyable experience which we will hopefully repeat in the future.

Despite a last minute change of marina and boat the staff at Hilperton dealt with it very well. We particularly enjoyed meeting Darren who explained operating the boat etc very clearly indeed and with patience and humour.

All factors conspired to give the ideal experience, weather, scenery, boat, staff, etc. A slight downside was the fact that one toilet filled up after only 3 days, was it emptied fully beforehand? But staff were very helpful and friendly whenever we made contact. The weather was glorious with some cool nights for relief until the last morning when it drizzled in sympathy with our sadness at it being the last day. \the boat was excellent even though it was 12+ year old; well designed. Brilliant - thanks.
