Boat was ready at agreed time. Handover and explanations were good. The engine was fairly quiet. Heating, hot water and showers worked very well. Plenty of plates, dishes, glasses etc. One of the main seating areas was damaged and unusable, there was some staining to cushions. Bedding/pillows were basic and uncomfortable. The duvets were grubby (which we found when we stripped the beds at end of hols).

Customer service was excellent - we had to delay this trip for 2 years because of COVID, and ABC Boats offered immediate refunds. Pre-departure information was thorough and up-to-date. Very friendly and efficient on return.

We felt the boat was a little tired - it wasn't particularly clean, and yet again the fitted sheets did not fit the mattresses properly - so the sheet peeled off every night. There were minor defects with many of the windows and the skylight. The water in the after shower never got above lukewarm. Previous boats of a similar class had more storage space - in particular in the galley and after bedroom. A minor irritation was that the fridge door opened the wrong way - it fouled the small cupboard door under the seating, and the rubbish bin! On the other hand the central heating was a godsend!

We arrived earlier than expected, this was no problem, boat was readied ASAP, a bit of intuition and off we went, fitted out as requested. Little wait on return while boat was checked and refuelled but no hassle. All in all would we use ABC boat hire again. Yes we will.

Our boat was ideal for 2 couples, well equipped and featuring 2 bathrooms. The ABC staff were patient and helpful on every occasion. We'd recommend them without hesitation.

Super narrow boat, spotless and everything worked well, lovely helpful staff, only thing I would warn newbie to canals boating is bring Nat spray! They drove me mad, so think it should be on items to bring. Apart from that what a lovely experience. Would definitely book with ABC boat hire again.

Just a couple of minor points. Some of the pillows were lumpy and need replacing and the table at the stern clearly hadn't been used for a while as it was covered in cobwebs and dirty. We had to give it a good clean before using it to enjoy out first night G&T's.
