We travelled on the Llangollen Canal as far as Ellesmere and back, there were plenty of places to stop, lots of lovely walks, especially at Whixall Moors, Colemere, Ellesmere and Whitchurch is a lovely town to visit too.

Staff, handover and barge was First Class, A1. Staff helped us plan our route and travelling times to get where we wanted to be. Handover was very thorough and I can’t say enough how friendly all the staff at ABC boat hire were. Went above and beyond, even giving our party of 8 a lift into town on our last night after they had finished work

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd experience with ABC as we did with our 1st! When we handed back the boat (Shore Lark) based at Aldermasten we gave some verbal feedback to a maintenance man in the office. He was very appreciative and said this was the kind of feedback they found very useful. Namely that despite keeping the engine running for an hour after mooring the battery lost it's charge each night which then tripped the inverter.(the fridge went off about 2 30 each night) Also the TV at the rear of the boat did not work all week despite many attempts. Apart from these frustrations the 4 of us had a great time and look forward to our next canal adventure!

Good communication before the trip. Handover in office was hurried and it was difficult to take in all the information. Handover in boat was not very thorough but we did tell them that we were experienced. The on board manual was excellent.

We did the four counties ring and the Anderton boat lift. We enjoyed the wide range of countryside, canal features and interesting towns.
