We have booked canal holidays with ABC before and always had a fantastic boat and a great time. On this occasion there were a couple of things which let the holiday down. We waited an hour and a half to be able to set off from the base. This is way longer than we have ever waited either with ABC or other canal boating companies. The boat itself was very cold and we have been on these boats in October before in cold weather but have never felt so cold in the evening before. It was also quite difficult to steer. We still had a fantastic time but a warmer boat and a quicker hand over would have made it even better.

Good boat - engine and everything worked as it should. Kitchen well appointed for it's size. Not luxurious but we hired a basic boat.

Thank you for your feedback. I have spoken to the Marina Manager at Blackwater and he is disappointed to hear your comments regarding the customer service you received from his team. Your party arrived before the usual arrival time and the team worked quickly to replace a toilet that had been broken on the previous hire so that you could still be the first to leave the Marina. Tyr has a small invertor and therefore it is only possible for it to have one 3 pin plug socket. We are always happy to discuss the boat layout and amenities on board prior to booking if customers contact us in the Booking Office. We hope you will be back for another holiday with ABC in the future.

Even though this trip was at the end of a very busy season, the boat was prepared for our trip on time. We did have two minor problems with the boat but the mechanics were able to get us running again with very little down time. We have used ABC for several other holidays and all have been great.

The boat was a good clean condition and in very good working order. Kate was helpful at pick up and provided all the info needed even though the river conditions were closed and the canal routes were temperamental at the time due to rainfall. Stuart also provided a beneficial handover and covered everything we needed at our level of experience.

As the marina is located so near to the River Severn marina staff will advise guests on whether it can be navigated during their holiday and offer other routes options if it is closed.
