Staff very friendly and helpful. The Falkirk wheel breaking down was beyond anyone’s control and they handled the changes in schedule required very well. I appreciate they must be difficult to clean thoroughly, but the boat still had quite a few dog hairs around in corners and on the bedding; a bit disappointing.

The booking process was easy and we were kept informed throughout. The boat was exactly as described and the staff at the boatyard were friendly and helpful. This was our second booking with ABC (different marina though) and we would certainly book with them again. We cruised the Cheshire Ring over 11 nights and would highly recommend the company, boatyard, boat itself and the route.

All of the staff were lovely and helpful and the boat was lovely and clean & very well equipped. The only slight snag was that the TV reception & WIFI access on the boat were very limited & the music system on the boat was a little tricky to figure out how to operate to begin with. However the instruction we received from Steve was excellent and very clear & we really enjoyed our few days canal boating from Anderton Marina and would definitely do it all again with ABC boat hire and recommend them to others for a great canal boating experience.

Had an amazing first time in a canal boat with my partner and 10 year old son! Staff very helpful and we enjoyed the freedom of mooring up where we liked. Very relaxing. Good for everyone getting involved, opening the locks etc. We did have a rocky start where we lost control of the boat straight after being left ourselves, throttle cable snapped. Very scary when you are inexperienced but a lovely couple helped us. Engineer came out and replaced then we were on our way again. Our confidence grew after that. Met some lovely people on the way. Particularly loved Penkridge and its market! Can't wait to do it again next year!

Just excellent. A bit nerve racking at first because were newbies. But once we done the first couple of locks it was easy. The weather was fab so that helped. The volunteers on the manned locks were very helpful. Boat was perfect and very comfortable. Training was very good and she made it fun too. Cant wait to do it again. Thanks

We were given our initial instructions from a new staff member who had never been on a boat, or operated a lock. We feel this should be a requirement of all staff if they are instructing holidaymakers in boat etiquette. The returns policy and management of, was not very precise, and led to unnecessary stress. They need to work on their customer experience.

The boat was well equipped and clean and tidy, handled well and got us around the network, our only issue was the converting the dining table into a bed which required a call out to fix, which again was expertly dealt with.On arrival, we managed to miss the entrance to the yard and had to turn back as it was a left turn followed by an immediate right turn, so we missed it, despite the signage. Surprisingly the canal network was quite quiet despite it being in the school holidays.

Had a wonderful week exploring the beautiful Union Canal up to Edinburgh and back plus a trip to The Kelpies. The boat had everything we needed - even heating for those wet days! So quiet and peaceful, lovely way to explore!
