It was more to do with the canal itself . The water levels on the canal was far to low. We could not pass another boat without being grounded. Hence wasting a lot of our holiday.

So many people now live on canal boats that we found the 48 hour moorings on the river Avon were full. This made a very long journey.the marina should have arranged private moorings or advised us in advance that this would have been a problem. In the notes sent out before the trip, places to visit along the Avon were mentioned. But no use to boaters when they are unable to moor up.

The boat was very clean and contained all necessary items for the trip. When a problem developed, the staff was very responsive and had us on our way again within an hour.

Loved the boat, has many mod cons and all you need in a kitchen. Bathrooms good too. Only thing we all struggled with was the beds. The mattresses were comfy enough, but very narrow. I suppose its what you would expect on a narrow boat, but none of us slept very well. But apart from that it is a great holiday experience.

ABC and the boat were fine but the Brecon & Mon Canal was more difficult than we anticipated. It needs dredging and the remaining overgrown vegetation needs to be cut back.

The handover was well organised given the current situation regarding COVID 19, the boat was ready and we were able to leave the boatyard in good time. We had a problem with a water leak from the stern gland and this issue was soon rectified.

The boat layout really worked for us. The handover was spot on for experienced boaters as we are. Katie at the Marina professional and knowledgeble. She even called us beforhand to find out our route so boat could be facing the right way. No other Marina has ever done that.

Our third time hiring a boat from ABC Boat Hire, and we were once again thrilled with the experience. It was our first time at this marina, and we were impressed by the staff and facilities. Reception was efficient and very friendly. Initial boat orientation was done thoroughly and with a great sense of humor. The boat was beautiful and had everything we needed for our two week trip.
