The boat was fantastic and we had a great week. Hand ove r of boat at each end of the week was just right and carried out in a freindly and helpful way. Only suggestion to make it even better, is that the permanently fitted double bed comfort, could be improved by firmer mattress and may be more space . (But I expect this may be unrealistic in a barge). All in all a great experience thank you to all at Whitchurch Marina.

One or two minor issues: 1. Fold up bench seat wouldn't fold down properly. 2. Radio packed up after a couple of days with CD stuck inside. 3. Customers need to be made aware of the units card issue with the public pump out points.

Thank you for your feedback. Your comments regarding the bench and the CD player have been forwarded to the Marina so that they can check that any issues have been resolved. Generally, our customers should not need to use public pump out points as anyone cruising on an extended holiday would be advised to visit a Marina for this service. Super boat & excellent service from the boatyard. Reason for one less star for the boat is that we didn't like noisy gearbox when ticking over in gear passing other boats or entering locks etc.

Our holiday was excellent as we had a great boat, however I do think you should vet more carefully the amount of experience other hirers have. I have been on the canals for over 30years and the conditions with the strong currents from the flooded rivers flowing into the canal at some points especially around Woolhampton lock were challenging to the most experienced boat user. The couple who left in front of us nearly capsized in the lock pound and at one time both abandoned the boat with the wife have a panic attack. Luckily the volunteer lock keeper and one of my crew were able to assist. We carried on and saw the couple later in the week and found they had not moved the next day and had found the whole experience frightening. They had only been on a boat for 3 days the previous year and in his words it was like a mill pond. I think they were very lucky as this incident could easily have resulted in serious or fatal injuries and I would urge ABC relook at their procedures.
