What an amazing weekend we had on Clarks Grebe courtesy of ABC Boat Hire. £ of us went 2 adults and a 10-year-old boy. The barge was fantastic, It was clean, well equipped and clean and comfortable bedding provided too. Cannot fault this at all. Thanks from all of us for providing a fun filled Easter Weekend.

Long weekend on Black Woodpecker, 3 of us with experience, 4 of us without. Went really well, good boat with good facilities for a large group, only criticism was a little lacking in storage ie.. for bags etc.. . Marina very helpful and a good spot to explore the Llangollen or head down onto the Shropshire Union.

We had a lovely first canal boat holiday and would definitely do it again. The team at Anderton Marina where so friendly and welcoming. They even remembered our dogs name. Hopefully see you again soon.

The boat was lovely and very well equipped. Nice plush bedding, decent toilet/shower room and the shower itself was far better than i was expecting (we've been in hotels where the showers weren't as good). The only slight niggles were really minor stuff like the water pumps running occasionally during the night but that was easily fixed by turning them off last thing at night and back on again in the morning, and the doors at the front (main bedroom area) being draughty but we fixed that with a well placed towel. To be fair, it's a narrowboat and it's to be expected. We did travel in March as well (there was still snow on the canal banks) so i would expect a bit of fresh air to be quite welcome if travelling in the summer months. Would certainly recommend the Little Grebe with the extra bits and bobs it comes with.

Great fun but the boat's first outing following the winter and the batteries wouldn't hold their charge. This meant the heating would only operate when the engine was running but not enough power to use microwave or toaster. It was chilly.

Constructive observations about a good holiday. Problem with the gas as soon as we set off but the technician came and sorted it out very promptly. Dinette bed uncomfortable and difficult to put together - the components were a bad fit. We got better at it as the week went on but it was still uncomfortable and cold. We could have done with a Winter weight duvet - it's still cold at Easter time! I slept with my clothes on all week ! Oven door glass fell off ( twice ) but we managed without it. Poor quality cutlery. Surely there is no need to save weight on a boat? Toilet tank signalled full on Tues. of a Sat/Sat trip.Either it was not fully empty at the start or the guage was faulty ? However, a full refund was willingly given for the pump-out charge. Television had very poor sound quality. Why don't boats have fuel and water guages like camper vans ? Very nice polite and helpful staff at the Whitchurch Marina (and Chirk where we got our pump-out)..

It is a shame that you has a few issues at the beginning of your holiday but we're pleased that they were resolved quickly. We have forwarded your comments about the television and toilet sensor to the marina so that they can be checked. Although we don't offer winter weight duvets we do have blankets at all of our Marina's. We look forward to welcoming you back aboard soon!

Generally good but some problems with showers and bed awkward to set up at night and return to living accomodation during the day.

Lovely boat, good responsive engine & throttle with fine settings. Heating excellent too. Despite very wet weather everything worked well.

My rating is high because the whole experience from talking to the booking team through the the teams at Aldermaston Wharf focused on friendly customer focused support. Every element of the boat was of a high standard it was clean just as set out in the brochure therefore you got what you saw. So ABC do keep focuing on the customer service as it does make us want to comback for a third year.
