Very enjoyable trip except for the weather! Double made up bed was a bit uncomfortable but duvet and pillows of good quality. Pump had to be switched off at night due to noise. "Briefing" surely could be shorter as much of the information was repeated 3 times by various members of staff - very through!!!

Thank you for your feedback. First time boaters do tend to like important information to be repeated but we appreciate that if you are experienced then this could be a bit time consuming. We are always working to improve the design and configuration of our dinette beds, with comfort being an important factor. Most aspects of the holiday were very good, but one major one - the comfort of the seating during the day let it down. The saloon bench seats were not comfortable to sit on for prolonged periods and the ridge about shoulder-height at the back was particularly uncomfortable.

The boat was exceptionally clean and the staff at Goytre friendly and professional with good boat safety/induction etc. Also the info left on board regarding the boat and locality was very good and there were nice touches such as fresh flowers and a helpful welcome pack. The Mon and Brecon is very beautiful canal and we had a great time.

Double bed on Cape Weaver boat is a converted table/seating arrangement which is difficult and inconvenient to access.

Helpful staff. As the front door is leading to a bedroom (it's often a living area in some boats) it could do with some extra insulation as got very cold at night. Also the water pump is surprisingly noisy and goes off without reason at night. It's noisiest in the front bedroom. There is an off-switch but that means no running water at night. Something to think of in future fit-outs. Otherwise good.

Boat was very clean and well presented with attention to detail. Friendly and helpful staff helped us on arrival and explained everything clearly. The only reason we have not given 5 stars is because we were very cold even with the heating on all the time. To be fair ,the weather was u seasonably cold. Spare /thicker duvets/extra blankets would have been very helpful as despite wearing our very warm down coats inside when awake we could not really sleep wearing them!!

The condition of the boat, it was very old. Several of the windows were difficult to close and the door on the bow didn’t shut tightly creating a constant draft. The seating wasn’t very comfortable and barely enough for the six of us let alone the eight the boat was designed for. The taps at the sink were very difficult to turn off, the grill ( I know that calor doesn’t provide lots of heat ) was very poor. The stern doors were difficult to close at night. There was a problem with the engine before we’d left the marina and we had to call the engineer out shortly after leaving. To be fair the response was quite quick. The engineer said that a proper fix would be needed when the boat returned but we should be ok for the week. We were. With the engine on and nothing else plugged in we used your hairdryer and had to call you again as it blew something. Only three sockets on the extension lead worked ( the one nearest the lead didn’t ). Only one of the pegs had a ring on it and one of the ropes snapped. The first morning we woke up there were several wet patches from condensation - we left the fanlight open after that). The problem was that the floor was filthy. The piece of kitchen towel we used was black! On the plus side the cooking utensils, equipment and bedding were all excellent. The toilets and shower were very clean too. Despite the weather, we enjoyed the experience but it would have been much better if the condition of the boat and cleanliness was of a higher standard.
