A guide to narrowboat interior

Looking for your ideal narrowboat holiday but not sure where to start? Narrowboats

Narrowboats typically fall into three categories:

• Traditional – provides enough space both outside and inside for holiday makers.
• Semi-traditional – provides more space on deck for frequent recreational boaters.
• Cruiser – also provides more space on deck, ideal for cruising.

At ABC Boat Hire, we have an array of berth boats to choose from. These include:

• Two to five berth boat
• Six to eight berth boat
• Up to twelve berth boat

Interior

All of our narrowboats feature full radiator central heating with cold and hot running water and a double filtered drinking water system. All of our fleet feature a private master bedroom and bathroom. There is carpeting fitted in the bedrooms and saloon area, along with a fully equipped galley kitchen. On-board amenities include a hipbath/shower, free Wi-Fi and a welcome pack of necessities for your bboating holiday. It might surprise you just how much can fit in a narrowboat!

Two to five berth boat

Most of our two to five berth boats can accommodate a maximum of 4 people, like our Viking Nene cruiser stern. However, if you’re looking to accommodate 5 people on your getaway, the Alvechurch bunting or Red Line Finch may be the one for you. The lengths of these boats can vary, from 42ft to 58ft – allowing you to choose between more space inside or outside depending on your type of holiday.

Six to eight berth boat

Our six to eight berth boats vary from 57ft to 69ft in length and can accommodate a maximum of 6 to 8 people. The smallest of these berth boats include the Falkirk Spirit, ideal for small families and groups. If you are looking for something more spacious, the Alvechurch Warbler is a semi-traditional stern narrowboat that is part of our Alvechurch Fleet and is ideal for larger families or larger groups. What’s more, the Warbler boasts additional comforts such as LED lighting throughout, two large TV’s and wider beds.

Up to twelve berth boat

We have 4 of our up to twelve berth boats to choose from. Accommodating between 10 to 12 people, each narrowboat is 70ft in length. All four options are part of the ‘Alvechurch Fleet’ with creature comforts such as LED lighting throughout, 4 speaker CD/radio, wider beds and a front desk table - making them the perfect choice for larger groups and families looking for a cruiser stern to take on the waterways.
