Holiday was great from Alvachurch down to stratford-upon-Avon and onto the Grand Union. Staff were brilliant, even when we broke down. very helpful. Very polite. The boat could’ve been better, definitely not the flagship of the fleet things, not working and Rattles and squeaks Storage was very limited on this particular boat and overall appearance. Very tired.

On arrival everybody was very helpful.and the handover was smooth and swift. The boat was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed supplied. The holiday was brilliant, the Llangollen canal was amazing with some lovely stops enroute. Fellow travellers were very friendly and helpful.with tips etc. Will definately be back!

Headed towards Stenson lock winding hole, had fun reversing back to the entrance of the marina as the boat got wedged in the winding hole, had a slow meander back to the marina to drop off a couple of crew before heading down to hopwas for the last 2 nights with our 16 month old grandson!

Excellent service, excellent boat. The black cap warbler was a lovely boat for all 5 of us. The beds extended. There was good storage with great seating areas.

We had booked seven weeks of canal travel on ABC narrow boats. But on arrival at the Aldermaston wharf marina we were told a crucial lock was damaged and most of the Kennet and Avon canal was cut off so we could not reach Bath as planned. Our receptionist did a great job of getting us an alternative booking for a boat on the Stratford canal.

The service from staff at Aldermaston was excellent. And the boat was very good.. But the planned trip was curtailed by a damaged lock. And we found about half the locks we did use were so leaky that operating the gates was actually impossible for our team of two retirees without extra help. We have been discouraged from returning to the Kennet and Avon for a third time.

Everyone was so helpful and really went out of their way to help us as foreigners to have a great trip. We were given comprehensive instructions on how to operate the boat and one of their experts stayed with us to get us safely through our first lock on the canal. We had a truly wonderful holiday.
