There should have been more information at the marina regarding closed locks, especially as we were doing the route with all the closed locks, and we didn’t know till we got to the lock when it was too late! This meant we had to change our route halfway through. A notice board would have sufficed. In respect of the Wi-Fi, we had a reasonable expectation that we would be able to upgrade from the basic free package (which was rubbish) and pay for a better service, but this was not an option. As we do not have UK mobiles, we do not have roaming and therefore really struggled with accessing information on the app for a route, and keeping in touch with our family who were on another boat. Staff were surprised that we needed additional Wi-Fi, but would generally quite helpful.

Easy trip down to Bath, assisted by lock co-ordinators it was most enjoyable.

Bedding and make up bed mattress needs to be better quality (abed topper would help so the seating buttons that form the make up bed are not felt when sleeping)

The boats (I have used ABC before) have been of good quality well thought out in terms of utilities and design. They would be even better, scoring a five if the bedding was of better quality, pillows and make up bed mattress in particular.

Excellent service. Office staff very friendly and efficient. Hand over of boat was good, everything we needed to know was explained well. Boat was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. Handing the boat back, fuel used was quickly worked out and when we went to pay up, the office staff seemed genuinely interested in our trip which despite some challenging weather was a super relaxing holiday.

Friendly helpful staff on arrival, however the boat wasn’t cleaned to the standards we have had previously with other abc hires, also had rain coming in through the roof hatch

We were impressed with the service throughout our experience. We had an issue with a leak from one shower. When we contacted them on our first day they responded quickly and helped up in a way that did not delay us in any way. They were attentive when we arrived, guiding us through the boat, but also pragmatic about the level of support we needed given the years of narrow boat experience we have.

ABC's customer service and boat quality is second to none! We have used them many times departing from marinas all over England, and we know we can always rely on getting a top notch boat. We have rarely had any issues, but in those rare cases where we have, they were dealt with in the best possible way.
