Excellent service at Whitchurch Marina, Boat was ready on time and handover completed in good time allowing us to get underway and make some good progress along the canal on our first afternoon. Boat was clean, good bedding and towels provided, We missed the additional wide bed cushions which made sleeping a bit of a challenge, not sure if this was our fault on original booking or ABC, either way it needs to be made clearer that this must be requested despite ‘Swift’’ boat description stating wider beds.

4 of us old time gals went on the Narrow boat for 5 days.Was a brilliant experience but you need to be pretty fit to manage the Locks. Altho it is hard work we still had a great holiday and a lot of fun. Beware the Locks that have strong undercurrents!!!!! Unfortunately we did not heed the warnings & ended up width ways across the canal, hence, holding up the upstream & downstream traffic!!!! After a frantic phone call back to base we did get some help to rectify the problem so all turned out good. If I had one piece of advice for the boat hire company it would be to show novice boaters how to actually operate the Locks by attending the very first Lock with them. You cannot really learn how to operate a Lock by looking at a tiny, wooden toy Lock imo. Anyway, after wrestling with the trees, battling with the Locks, we all had a great holiday. Would us 60 plus year olds do it again? 🤔......Nah! Been there & done it 😂😂😂😂

Nice boat and a great weekend with no issues. Disappointed original booking for kennet and Avon canal had to be cancelled and we had to choose an alternative, felt company should have been more apologetic and offered a discount or compensation, even a bottle of wine on board would have done

Engineer that checked us on board was very friendly and helpful, got us away relatively quickly. Slower to check us back in and tell us what we owed for fuel. Lovely clean boat would use again
