Whilst the boat was good in some respects there was some things that was not good. Such as not enough cupboard space, especially in the middle cabin, silly arrangement in the galley space that meant if you had the oven grill door open you could not access the lefthand side of the under sink cupboard, somewhat uncomfortable mattresses, no vegetable strainer, very noisy water pump & the middle rope was too short. In addition although we were warned that visitor moorings on the river Avon was few and far between, what there was seemed to mostly full of privately owned boats in a somewhat ramshackle state that gave the appearance of not having moved for a long time

Fantastic week away. Loved our boat - Canyon Wren. I've always struggled with the steering the boats, but for some reason I got it together with her and was able to have a break from always being on lock duty.

None of us had ever been on a canal barge before, it was peaceful, enjoyable mixed with moments of panic and the satisfaction when we got something right and were still afloat.

email updates and welcome was very good, however in hindsight it would have been very helpful to know how the boat reacted in reverse and mooring practice. Left and it goes right and right and it goes left and reverse is your brake was all that we got, seemed o k at the time but 10 minutes on the above 2 points would have proved very helpful and would have saved a few "bumps".

Very friendly staff when we collected the boat and also at handover. Clear instructions given on how to operate the boat, navigate locks etc The boat itself was clean & fully equipped - excellent holiday
