The boat was in excellent condition. The staff where very polite and informative, The only criticisme was that we booked Anderton marina because we wanted to go to Manchester but when we arrived where informed that due to a blockage in the canal which had happened on Christmas day 2024, We feel that this information should have been relayed to us at the time of the booking so we could have had the option of another marina, but as pervious stated the staff at Anderton Marina where very helpful indeed in helping us get to our Saturday appointment.

Communication and advice before the trip was timely and helpful. Information they sent was also helpful in planning the trip. They let us know about water level problems in advance and were always available for calls or would ring back.

Great boat - all new with good improvements. Problem was water levels in canals that restricted destinations and timings. They did what they could.

"We've had an amazing week. The canal boat was spotlessly clean and well-equipped. The explanations were clear, and the ladies at the reception were very friendly and helped where they could. The shop doesn't offer much, so if you need groceries, you'll definitely need to go to a supermarket. We come from the Netherlands, so we had some tricky questions, but they did their best to help us as well as possible. My husband had a little accident getting off the boat and badly bruised his ankle. We were helped well over the phone by the people at Alvechurch Marina, and ultimately had a great week! We'll definitely do this again for sure!"

Unfortunately, due to the low water level, the sailing routes were limited, but despite that, we sailed for a good number of hours every day and saw an incredible amount. We had many experiences, including a tree in the water that made us lay still for a few hours. A broken lock also made us stop for a while, and the people from Canal and Rivertrust were working hard to solve the problem. So many friendly people everywhere. And then there's the adventure of operating the locks and bridges yourself! Our 13-year-old son had a fantastic time and wants to come back again, just like us!
