The boat was in a good condition and well fitted out with bedding, crockery and pots, cleaning materials and towels. We were offered lots of advice before leaving and queries on route were answered promptly and helpfully. Handover and return was quick and efficient. Only one very small negative - WiFi not sufficient for 4 adults, even without downloading and surfing the internet.

Very helpful on arrival, got us on our way quickly.However, on the first morning and subsequent mornings the toilets would flush until we had charged the batteries even though we had used very little power. One of the beds had two mismatched mattresses and was therefor very uncomfortable .One of the black water tanks was showing a red light after very little use. Personally I feel Shardlow and return is a more achievable trip especially when the days are shorter, We could not reach Sawley even though we spent very little time moored or sightseeing. We had no time to visit Shardlow.

This was the first time renting a canal boat. ABC Leisure was easy to work with and would recommend them if considering a canal boat holiday. The boat was well maintained and clean. We were given good instruction on how to operate the boat and the locks and lift bridges. All were fairly easy to operate. We would use ABC again in the future without hesitation

Trip different much slower than usual trips as on constant tickover because of moored boats. Didn't get all the way to Bristol one of the locks wouldn't fill. Places to moor interesting once moored up a tree used a plank more than once.

We got the type of boat we required; 2 of us were over 6'. I phoned up in advance to check the water levels in the canal. All okay :) Arrived to find boat was ready had lunch and got on our way. Got back early and seen to promptly fuel check and difference paid. A little issue with one of the toilets and showers and little storage for clothes in that particular boat. Handover good, but old hands. A little too much on permanent residents of the canal. Kennet & Avon is a slow canal, Bath great, locks some deep, but volunteers available to help.

From the hand over to the re3turn we only experienced helpfulness. The boat was very well equipped and comfortable.

A lot of the gates were very difficult to open; otherwise we enjoyed the route. The pontoons were a different experience; and the lock keeper as we entered the Severn was very accommodating

ABC Boathire, I couldn't recommend enough. I keep coming back. This time we had two boats and went with friends who had never boated before. The staff at Hilperton looked after us fantastically and made sure we both got off together. The staff at Hilperton were wonderful and the cleanliness of the boats were second to none so big shout out to the cleaning staff. You will find the boats well equipped with everything you need . We have even cooked a Sunday Roast ! What I love is boating as part of the ABC Family they have Marinas all over country so we can always find a base.
