had a fantastic holiday, the boat was very clean and well equipped and the tuition we received on picking up the boat we first class. On our return home we booked another ABC boat hire for next year.

As always the canal holiday experience was excellent. We were though disappointed with the boat we hired. It was extremely dated and not worth the money we paid for it. This boat should have been refurbished some time ago.

We all really loved our stay on Piping Plover. The boat was spotless when we set off. Clear instruction given before we embarked and a great manual with lots of info. Our only issue was the lack of a working oven but I will email separately about that.

The canals on which we sailed are somewhat hazardous and poorly maintained. In addition we had little idea what to expect, and what places would be worth seeing. It was only Thorne Marine in Stockton Heath who gave us some useful information and improved the trip.

Excellent service from the ABC team from the Admin team to the engineers. Boat was fantastic and we had a great time.

A few things could have been done better. We were first time narrow boaters and although we bought maps more help with our route would have helped. A couple of lamps were out in the cabin and bathroom. The two single beds in the forward cabin were not comfortable. In my bed the mattress kept slipping off. We must be tough because we would do it again.

Boat was extremely clean. All staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. ABC Boats could not have done more.

It was a lovely restful break,we did think that our boat struggled going 4mph. Other similar boats were easily catching us up

See below. Comments on the boat condition - 1. Loose shackle pin at centre line fixing. 2. Cupboard door catch fell off so that door swung open blocking passage - I carry a toolkit so removed the door! 3. The boat is 'tired' but everything did work well.

Excellent holiday. Well-equipped boat on a beautiful stretch of canal. Downsides were few but to list a couple, the canal was very busy with lots of moored boats which meant speeds had to be extremely slow most of the time and mooring spots were sometimes a bit difficult to find. The other one which irritated me was when we left the marina after having the technical instruction. I was clearly a novice and the instruction was mindful of that but when the instructor left the boat and we started to head off, I was shouted at and the instructor came running back to inform me somewhat patronisingly that I hadn't tidied my ropes correctly! I would have at least understood to an extent had I actually been advised how to do so. However, it did not spoil the rest of the holiday which was superb.
