Fantastic holiday enjoyed by all the family. This was our first narrow boat holiday but certainly won't be the last. Our boat was very clean and well presented with everything we needed for a relaxing break. Lynn and the all team at the Wrenbury marina were extremely welcoming and explained how to operate the boat and the canal system very clearly.

Everything and everyone was excellent. We enjoyed our boat we hired very much . We have some good memories. Only 2 things were disappointing, one being internet access for the biggest part we were aware that access couldn’t be guaranteed but we had problems everywhere and every time we travelled and when we did connect it was always disconnecting one person had her own data and did not have a problem connecting for lengths of time . The other thing is two passengers came home with a bad back because the beds were absolutely hard rock solid absolutely no give in the mattress and the other bed made into a double the piping on the mattresses was digging into them and again you could feel the old springs through them some newer softer mattresses are needed or at least a memory foam soft topper . The seats are very uncomfortable and cushions were flat so it wasn’t very comfortable at all . Everything else was excellent . Very clean

Boat was fully equipped with everything we could have needed. It was a boat for 6 people with just 4 of us on there which gave us ample room too, but well worth it. Two bathrooms and plenty of storage space. Nice finishing touches with chrome plug sockets etc.

This was our first time hiring a canal boat, which we did for 7 days. We planned to travel from Aldermaston Wharf up to Windsor but were advised to travel west for our first trip - easier water to navigate and the map information was better. While the locks were interesting and enjoyable to start with after a while it became exhausting on this route - little time to actually cruise as most of the time was spent getting through the locks and bridges. There was also the worry about where we would be able to fill up with water (the first stop at Newbury refused to allow us to fill up as they said they don't provide a service to hired boats). Also concerns about when, where and how we would sort out our waste sewage if the need arose. We met some nice people who provided us with important advice about managing the locks. Wished we had worn gloves from the off as we were ill for 2 days probably from the canal water getting on our hands from the wet ropes (similar thing happened to others we met). We saw some lovely places, and it was a great experience overall. With all the locks there was no way we could travel the distance we were expecting too, especially when our boys went home after 3 days leaving just the 2 of us finish the journey.

We do understand it can be frustrating if you are advised to cruise a different route to the one that you had planned but going on the Thames can be quite daunting as a first holiday and the marina would have wanted you to have the best experience. Really enjoyable experience, especially the Falkirk wheel. Helped that the weather was lovely. Long boat was clean with good size kitchen and Bathroom. Would hire a 2 berth next time as pulling down the sitting area into a bed every night was a pain, plus not very comfortable. Would definitely recommend though.

Overall, the boat was fine, minor niggle was the layout of the dinette which was difficult to pass when set up. (Not easy to see how this could be altered) Cabin and shower/bath room layout worked really well for 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 children.
