This was our first canal boat holiday for some 15 years and was booked as it provided a safe bubble in the madness or COVID-19. ABC had thought through the process carefully so as to make us feel comfortable from the instruction of how to handle the boat and what to expect at the locks and instructions on how to leave the boat at the end of the holiday. The boat was very comfortable and warm with on board facilities all in full working order. Showers were hot, toilets flushed & the the oven & hob worked perfectly although the fridge wasn't as cold/frozen as we're used too but that didn't impact on food quality. Other boat users were considerate when it came to passing boats and navigating busy parts of the canal. I cannot recommend ABC Boat Hire highly enough and we look forward to booking another holiday with them next year.

ABC were a delight to deal with. ALL of their team were friendly, approachable and willing to help with absolutely anything. Pick up and drop off of the boat very straight forward.

The boat was fitted out very well and everything was in very good order. The engine and all appliances were reliable, including the excellent showers and toilets. The boat was spotlessly clean and beds all ready with good-size towels. The vacuum cleaner was a useful addition. We have hired canal boats from ABC before and enjoy loyalty discounts. The staff are always ready to answer any questions both at the booking stage and on the days of embarkation and returning the vessel. Thank you for another wonderful holiday.

We weren't provided with the canal guide or any information about mooring locations / places to fill up with water / advice about where to turn the boat (given that it was 55ft and most turning locations seemed to say max boat length 50ft). When questioned about this on our return we were told that it should have been provided but wasn't. This added a level of stress and uncertainty to the holiday which was disappointing. There was no tin opener on the boat!
