The boat was old a tired and in general need of a refurb. There were areas that smelt very badly - under the the kitchen sink was awful and the toilets. Both slowers leaked out into the hallway and the front toilet leaked. There were 5 adults and 2 small children and a baby in our group and we found it very 'cosy'! How 12 people would manage on it I don't know!? Compared to other boats we have hired in the past, and there have been many over the years mainly from Anglo-Welsh, it was certainly poor. The bedding was thick and lumpy, and far too hot, especially for this time of year. The bedding certainly needs upgrading! In the kitchen there were no stirring spoons and the saucepans were dangerous as had metal handles which got very hot. The grill in the cooker didn't work unless you stood there with your finger on the button to keep it alight which was not practical at all. For the approx. £2700 we paid for the boat we thought it was well overpriced for just a week.

All the people at Whitchurch boat yard are so friendly and helpful, witha relly warm welcome. The boat was bright and airy, immaculately clean, and extremely well equipped.

It was unfortunate that the TV had no reception and the radio very poor due to a broken aerial. The boat was very clean, well equipped and comfortable for her age. A most enjoyable holiday. Thank you.

Booking procedure easy. Handover quite basic - fortunately my husband had previous experience of handling a narrow boat but probably not sufficient instruction for a newcomer. Only real criticism was the unseemly haste in which staff tried to get us off boat on final day - at one point wanted us to move boat whilst we were trying to unload but reluctantly agreed to give us s couple of minutes to finish off. Staff friendly but don’t really think that there are enough of them to prepare the boats thoroughly on handover days. Would recommend and hope to try another ABC holiday at one of their other locations.
