Our long weekend was great fun, and ABC staff were superb. The boat was well-equipped, and everything functioned perfectly. Our only criticism is that the boat interior looked a bit tired with drab upholstery and faded woodwork. Nevertheless, it was spotlessly clean and, bearing in mind that we had a little dog with us that limited our choice, we appreciate that we would be unable to hire the most luxurious boats.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. The Eagle is one of our older boats, so the decor will be a little dated but we're pleased to hear that she was spotlessly clean as should be expected. We accept pets on all of our boats, so it may just be that the eagle was the only boat that was available when you made the booking. We hope to welcome you aboard again very soon!

Great service very friendly staff gave us good knowledge of the boat. Had trouble with the heating on the way came out to us and it was sorted.

The reason we have had to mark this down is the fact that Scottish Canals prevented us from doing what we booked to do, by closing the 2 bridges down towards Glasgow, there by limiting where we could go. We were informed about this very late and remain surprised they chose to do this just before the start of the boating season. We rather get the feeling this behaviour by Scottish Canals seems suspicious. We haven't been on Scottish canals before. We were surprised by the shortage of moorings and wonder how this will impact as the season gets going. We didn't like the officious mooring instructions, re times when you could and couldn't moor. Everyone we met on the canal, at the hire centre, on the locks etc, were wonderful. Friendly, helpful and seemed genuinely committed to ensuring we had a good experience

The boat had issues (1) heater would not run for more than 2/3 hours with out cutting out if engine was not running which made the evenings and nights very cold (2) toilet showed full pumped out then showed full after 1 day. PS having read previous reviews this seems to be an recurring problem with the toilet. But apart from that we had a excellent holiday the staff were all helpful and very friendly and a credit to ABC boat hire. PPS unfortunately it was probably the coldest week of the year

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, you should have already received a letter form our Customer Service's team. After speaking to the Marina Manager it was confirmed that there was a fault with the toilet sensor, which has now been repaired. The heating system has also been checked and found to be fine. We can only suggest that due to the very cold weather the heating was understandably continuously in use, which would require the engine to be run for longer than normally necessary. We would like to thank you for your lovely comments about our staff at Whitchurch Marina which we have highlighted to the Manager. We very much look forward to welcoming you aboard in the future!

We enjoyed the break and the process of boarding and return was excellent. The boat was great for our size of party and equipment supplied was good.

The boat and staff were excellent, they could not be more helpful and efficient. I have hired many boats in the past, and have not been impressed with ABC until now.

It was not the fault of ABC but Canal Trust. Canal closures and low water levels and having to pull the boat backwards for five hours then to try and leave the first lock to find there was insufficient water So had to moor for the night, which took a lot of effort. On contacting the ABC Office was told someone would be out in the morning. This was done and the Manager and an engineer arrived to explain they had contacted Canal Trust and that they would be pumping more water in. In the meantime we were offered extra days for the inconvenience caused. The ABC staff stayed with the boat as water was pumped into the canal and took us to the top lock where we were able to get water. Maybe a better way of making customers aware of closures could be found and also getting the Canal Trust to keep the hiring companies informed about works that are happening. The boat was great and facilities just right, thank you.

Thank you for your feedback. We are updated by CRT as stoppages happen and we take action to inform customers who will be affected. On this occasion we were not aware of the stoppage and so we were not able to warn you. It's good to know that Alvechurch Marina were able to come and assist you and that they were able to offer you an extended holiday to make up for the time lost. It's also great to hear that you enjoyed our new Warbler class!
