Your recent holiday on Woodpecker - Black Woodpecker from Wrenbury

The boat was beautifully clean and prepared, our only criticism was the lack of storage space for clothing. On our return, the cleaning lady said that there was space to store under the beds, but lifting up the mattress to access daily needs is not very practical. We chose the boat as we were two couples, and the configuration was ideal, but we do not consider the bunks over the double beds or the bed in the living space are practical. Anyone looking to use the full capacity advertised would have real problems.

Your recent holiday on Eagle - Crowned Eagle from Aldermaston Wharf

Not the best starting point to head West. The canal has so many swing bridges and locks that it is hardly worth getting on the boat until you reach Newbury. Beyond Newbury the whole scenery is far better and the locks open up a little bit. The large locks are not very well maintained and don't compare well with others in the Midlands. This is clear when you check the external condition of the boats - severe scratches and beatings all over. The Yard was OK until we had a problem with one toilet - no-one answered the phone or replied to the message I left. It was a good job we had two toilets!

Thank you for your feedback. The route to Newbury is perhaps suited to active parties who enjoy being on and off the boat. Having checked with the marina, they are unaware off any missed calls or messages left by your party during your holiday, had they known you were having issues with one of the toilets they would have come out to look at it. The cleanliness of the boat was exceptional and the kitchen very well equipped, as usual. The canal was lovely, one of the quietest we've been on and very picturesque. We would definitely like to holiday on this canal again.

Your recent holiday on Spirit - Atholl Brose from Falkirk

We had a fantastic experience, loved every minute, but we did have a problem with weeds, reeds and trees blocking the way. We even had a smashed window due to trying to avoid a fallen tree but there was a falling tree on the opposite side.

Your recent holiday on Weaver - Village Weaver from Aldermaston Wharf

Found the kitchen cabinets sticky to touch and needed to be cleaned, cooker was greasy and again had to clean. Television would not work and when we phoned ABC about this said we were to far away for them to come and fix it, ( we were about 25 miles away by the A4 ) Radio would not tune to any station. Instruction booklet for television was for a different television

Your recent holiday on Warbler - Arctic Warbler from Aldermaston Wharf

Das Boot war in gutem Zustand; weniger gut fanden wir es, dass wir mit leerem Tank liegengeblieben sind und deshalb auch die Heizung nicht mehr funktionierte. Gleichfalls negativ bewerten wir den Umstand, dass wir die Kosten des wegen des hohen Wasserverbrauchs der elektrischen Toiletten benötigten vorzeitigen "pump-out" nicht erstattet bekamen, wie es in den letzten 30 Jahren bei allen anderen Bootsvermietern üblich war.
