Friendly helpful service, nothing too much trouble

Excellent - the boat was very well equipped, above our expectations and the only thing that was missing was a sharp knife. Beth at the Marina gave us some good advice about the routes we could take and where to moor. Really helpful throughout. The only negative was The Wharf, which is the pub at the marina. It was awful! The staff were rude and unhelpful and the food was very poor - sandwiches were in a packet as if from a supermarket. On our return we visited the Red Lion which was just a ten minute walk away and was lovely. We would certainly avoid the Wharf on our next visit - the only low point of the whole holiday.

Hand a good holiday boat had less storage than we thought loos did fill up earlier than we thought and warning light didn’t go out. Other than that it was ideal and even the weather was good

The boat hire company was very good. The reception and staff who dealt witht the boat side of things, all very friendly. We had been on this canal before and it is much busier now and some very tatty boats moored up, piled high with rusty old bits and pieces, so we didn't enjoy the experience as much this time.

The paperwork and handover of the barge was poor with us having to wait approx 1 hour to get our brief and handover. Only 2 girls were in the office and available to help. Otherwise boat was clean and shipshape and the rest of the trip a very pleasurable experience

We loved our week on the blacknecked swan, we were very lucky with the weather. The whole week went very smoothly apart from our toilet blocking which was dealt with very efficiently. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

People were very friendly. The double bed in the main room was a bit small. The curtains had some squashed mosquito stains on them.

Boat well turned out and beautifully equipped. Staff at pick up and drop off incredibly helpful and efficient. Similarly all comms prior to the holiday also done in good time and very clear

The boat was old a tired and in general need of a refurb. There were areas that smelt very badly - under the the kitchen sink was awful and the toilets. Both slowers leaked out into the hallway and the front toilet leaked. There were 5 adults and 2 small children and a baby in our group and we found it very 'cosy'! How 12 people would manage on it I don't know!? Compared to other boats we have hired in the past, and there have been many over the years mainly from Anglo-Welsh, it was certainly poor. The bedding was thick and lumpy, and far too hot, especially for this time of year. The bedding certainly needs upgrading! In the kitchen there were no stirring spoons and the saucepans were dangerous as had metal handles which got very hot. The grill in the cooker didn't work unless you stood there with your finger on the button to keep it alight which was not practical at all. For the approx. £2700 we paid for the boat we thought it was well overpriced for just a week.
