Leaks from skylight in kitchen meant i had drips on my head when cooking. Leak was there on arrival, patch with silver tape did nothing when pointed it out. Door hatch in middle of boat had water pouring in when it rained heavily. Had to use towels to soak it up and then have to walk over cold wet towels in the night from bed to loo. Luckily we had an extra set as we had the boat for two weeks or we would have had to call the marina to supply us with more for this purpose. Please change the shower pump out switch to a simple on/off one like the previous boat we had. Having to stand there after a shower holding the switch down was tedious and had the kids complaining. It took a minimum 5 mins after every shower so over the two weeks holiday I spend 1hour10mins stood in the bathroom holding the pump switch. We all had to do the same. It would take an electrician 5mins to change the switch. The 12 flush warining on toilet was also ridiculous. There should be a guage telling you where it is like a petrol one on the car. It was not funny one evening (5 days in) have the red light come on & then realise we would have to travel for 5 hours the following morning to the nearest pump out and then pay £20 for it. Our previous boat lasted the full week and pump out wasn't even discussed?? Unnecessarily stressful for a family of 4. There was also a really strong smell of sewerage in the middle bedroom when it was breezy weather. The headlamp did not work which we discovered when we went to enter a tunnel - very dangerous! The other light at the front did not work and neither the pathetic hand charger torch supplied on board. We had to rely on our mobile phone torches?! Others we passed said they were given spare bulbs for their hire boats? Overall - really poor boat maintenance. Such a shame as it's a lovely looking boat.

Atholl Brose was a great boat. Because the boat was fairly new the amenities were modern and comfortable. The motor ran smoothly with not much noice. The bathrooms were 5 star and the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. The kitchen was well presented with everything you would need. We loved our experience and would highly recommend Atholl Brose from Falkirk.

it was a lovely holiday and we enjoyed it but due to the Canal not being the best and all the river people saying 'you chose the wrong canal' I can't give it 5/5 sorry

We do try and provide information for routes and also the teams at the marina would also happily advise when you are planning a route. My 2 teenage daughters thought it was the best holiday that they had ever had! We had gorgeous weather, excellent food from the pubs on the canal and no augments! Banning internet usage was the best thing I did. This holiday was all about working, living and being together. Thank you for such a brilliant holiday x

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff - with a smile. The boat was well equipped and very clean. We had a problem with the boat and the engineer came out quickly and rectified the problem. Again with a smile - despite it being the Friday of Bank Holiday! We couldn’t fault ABC boats

Very nice trip. It´s a bit harder to find a place to stay over night compared when you go on a canal. We took the river. The boat was very nicely equipped and everything went as expected. Thank you!

Excellent experience very different from a "normal holiday "

The toilet tank was full after less than 4 days despite the fact that there were only 3 of our 4 crew present at the time which suggests that it wasn't serviced properly. We were at Brecon and the emptying facility was operated with a prepaid card which we weren't told about at the handover. We had to make several phone calls to sort out the problem and the delay left us with no time to explore Brecon, which was very disappointing. The canal from Goytre to Cwmbran was poorly maintained resulting in poor progress and several stops to remove weed from the propeller. Apart from that, we had good weather and was an enjoyable trip.

Amazing boat very modern and as always exceptionally clean. This boat is for 8 people and although we are only a family of 4 (+dog) we needed 3 double beds due to our children being adults. The space suited us perfectly. The staff at Whitchurch Marina were friendly, polite and professional.
