Briefing was efficient and not long-winded the guy who did it was personable, articulate, confidence enhancing, listened and answered all our questions including those of my 5yr old nephew. Would have been nice to have been warned about how shallow the canal was - we got our back end beached on the first night - took 4 attempts to free us. Albeit not ideal it was affirming, team building start to the holiday. Onboard was comfortable and information was all useful and accurate.

Thank you for the fantastic feedback about our team at Goytre Wharf! The Monmouthshire and Bracon Canal is renowned for being shallow and although we do make a note of this in our brochure it should have been mentioned during your handover. Being grounded can be alarming at first but getting free is all part of the fun! We hope to see you all again soon.

A brilliant week. The boat was in excellent condition. Ray who showed us around was very helpful. Although this was our first adventure in a narrowboat, it wasn't as daunting as first imagined. We did the route from Whitchurch to Llangollen which was stunning rural countryside and Llangollen is a superb town with excellent places to eat and things to do/see.

Boat fine apart from dodgy throttle handle (repair callout on 2nd Day). Llangollen Canal very busy between Chirk and Llangollen. Some inconsiderate/impateient boaters spoiled things a little.

The shower could not be used with engine running as the water was scoulding hot, so trying to spread the use of the shower through the day whilst cruising was not possible.

Had a brilliant holiday, the only reason for less than 5 stars was the difficulty we all had when getting in and out of the table when it was erected. There was very little space and non of us are overweight!
