Overall very good day out, would do it again but most probably not with the youngest of the children (0-3 years). The tutorial took at little longer than we would have liked and we didn’t set off until 11, so an hour of our time had already gone before we left. We took the nuneton route with expectation of reaching the Horseshoes pub, but it doesn’t open until 4pm everyday (we found this out during the trip) so there was no stop off for us unfortunately. The boat was lovely and modern with all the essentials you would need for a day hire. The only down point i would note for the kitchen is that the cupboards/drawers kept swinging open whenever the boat wobbled and a couple of the times the drinks glasses slid out (one smashed)…. So something to keep everything firmly in its place would be a sensible adjustment. I would advise to bring a speaker for some music if thats you’re thing as the aerial was broken (we were told) But we did have our own speaker luckily so the music was an enjoyment for our day. Other boats come passed you an say hello which is nice and i think they have an awareness that you dont do this everyday lol so they allow you time when passing through narrow squeezes. Would do the day again, perhaps not that direction of the canal but overall GREAT FAMILY DAY OUT!

The Boat itself was aged and of poor quality. Like hiring a pair of well worn skates at an ice skating ring. I have hired from here before and this was the worst boat I have ever taken out. The second bed was very uncomfortable and the setting up of same laborious each time. Kitchen poorly equipped. The toilet smelt from day one. Overpriced (even with a 30% discount) for a sub-premium product.

They did the basics, tried to sell unnecessary merchandise but covered the basics of the boat okay. The Boat itself was aged and of poor quality. The staff were extremely helpful gave good advice and help before setting off regarding boat handling and safety considerations. Fully explained the operation of the boat controls and the on board equipment. The cruise along the canal from New Mills to Marple was very pleasant with some interesting features of the lift and swing bridges.

We had lovely weather, which helped, but loved seeing the world from the boat as we pootled along. We took lunch and used the galley for tea and coffee.

A tree had fallen across the canal at Linlithgow on Friday evening. Work to remove it still had not commenced on the following Tuesday, so our planned trip to Edinburgh had to be abandoned. Very disappointing.

The route was great as it included locks/lift/swing bridges/tunnels and an amazing aquaduct so the whole canal boat experience. Also beautiful scenery and great places to visit enroute.

The whole experience was easy to use/organise., well informed and helpful from the first day of looking to booking, and right up to the day we boarded. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The boat itself was clean and comfortable. Well equipped and a joy to have for the week. An extremely well organised company that know what they are doing and how to treat the customer.
