The boat was perfect for our needs, all the staff from the handover to the lock operation were friendly & helpful and the scenery beautiful. Shame about the canal closures but we got to see everything we wanted to anyway.

The boat was clean, comfortable and well equiped. It fell down on a leak at the stern (not stern gland) which flooded the engine compartment in one night stop. An emergency callout engineer pumped, dried and restarted we then had to pump the bilge hourly. This was a known fault on "Imperial Eagle".This also forced us into the situation of potentially polluting the waterway! We found that having to run the engine both to start and run the heating at night unsatisfactory and would suggest that the engine start and heating batteries should be seperated, it is non-sensicle to have them on the same system.

Friendly, efficient staff. Well equipped boats. We've used ABC on many occasions and they're always there at the end of the phone, even if it's just for advice. Would have been useful to have known about lock restrictions before we arrived, but we adjusted our schedule accordingly.

Although we do contact customers who may be affected by stoppages prior to their holiday it is part of the boat handover to discuss any restrictions that may be in place at the time of the holiday. We do also encourage our guests to check the Canal & River Trust website when planning their route or of course they can contact the Marina at any time leading up to the holiday. This was my 5th holiday with ABC, this time around, the boat had a broken cooker. Only two dials worked so spent the time cooking on one ring only. Also the design of this boat was not as easy to work with as other boats in the past. (Not the configuration at fault, but the design) that said, we had a fantastic holiday and will most certainly book again. The only other issue was with the handover. We arrived at 4:15pm because traffic was herendous. We called at 3pm to advise. Having driven 7 hours without stopping (it should have taken 3 1/2 hours) we were headed the keys and told the handover would be in the morning. The following morning being ready at 9 we still didn’t get the handover until 10:30am Staff were friendly the following day, and seemed short staffed and once we got the handover this was friendly and very thorough. We received good advice regarding our route also.

Excellent holiday experience. Staff nice and friendly. Boats well maintained and clean. Good value. This was my second holiday with ABC and I'm sure it won't be my last. Unless I buy my own boat. I enjoyed it that much. Would be nice if the boats had maps on them though. £11.99 is a bit much.

Thank you for your feedback and the photo, it sounds as if you had an amazing holiday! As we offer a variety of maps and guides which vary in suitability depending on our customers chosen route we find that it is much better to sell them in the shop rather than provide one onboard. We also find that many of our customers like to keep them as souvenirs of their holiday! We look forward to helping you plan your next adventure with ABC.
