Everything about the hire from booking through to the return of the boat was handled promptly and efficiently. Kate in the office was very pleasant and had all the paperwork sorted upon our arrival. The instruction given by Ian and Nigel was excellent. They imparted all the necessary and relevant information regarding the operation of the boat and the canal system in a relaxed manner which ultimately meant that what they told us stuck, and as a result we had absolutely no problems for the week we had the boat. The boat itself was in was in excellent condition and was kitted out with all that was required for a life afloat. Gailey Wharf Marina itself could do with a revamp. Our first impression upon arrival was that it looked like a backyard junkyard and we wondered if we were in the right place. Having said that, overall we were very happy with our experience and would use ABC Boat Hire again.

Excellent holiday. Nice Marina,nice friendly people, good boat and lovely canal. We have done a few but Monmouthshire & Brecon canal is definitely the most picturesque and quiet. Chilled,stress free week. Even the weather was kind!!

Nice canal (Llangollen) clean and well equiped boat. Friendly and helpfull staff. The only disappoinment was that The Jack Mytton Inn in Hindford was closed. We had been looking forward a nice dinner at the pub, mooring up for the night. Please inform coming customers that it is no place to eat between Ellesmere and Chirk. (Restaurang in Maestermyn also closed)

This is our 4th year with ABC and really enjoy the canals holiday. In the past everthing has been excellent and although we still had a lovely time the boat plus equipment was a bit tired. Not up to previous standard.

Although we were novices, all 3 generations of our family enjoyed taking part in managing the boat, including the 3 year old who was great at running through the boat with messages! It was a lovely way to spend a weekend as a family, despite the rain!

Overall we had an excellent week and travelled to where we wanted to. We have used the eagle boats before and so was not disappointed with it There was some dirty linen left on board from a previous cruise which we didn’t find until after we had left. The marina experience was a bit haphazard as there was a problem with our boat that needed fixing before we could get on so we were delayed in boarding, then we were charged for fuel which we had already paid for (this was refunded the next day) then they lost our paperwork and had to start again so we left late and missed getting up the Foxton locks that evening making the next morning an early start so we could get back on track.

The help given to my wife prior to my late arrival for our narrow-boat holiday was fantastic. Everyone was very helpful and supportive including the local people.
