The staff are very, very friendly and helpful. The boats are modern and well laid out. with most fittings being new. A perfect place to start your trip of the llangollen canal.

We had a wonderful time on Grith. This is a well kept traditional boat. The only negatives were the time we had to wait to leave on the first day i.e. it was 5 before we got away having arrived before 3 and we were told the water tank had been filled up but when we went to top t up on the second day it was obvious it had not been. Other than that everything went very well.

We do aim to have customers leave the Marina earlier than 5pm but the handover process can take up to 2 hours depending on how many boats are booked on the day and the level of experience that each crew have. It is disappointing to hear that the water had not been filled up properly and your review has been forwarded to the Marina to inform them. We hope to welcome you back again soon.

As our original Yorkshire trip was cancelled due lack of water we weren't sure what to expect save for 127 locks on Stourport ring but it was great but we should have taken 10 days to do the trip

Thank you for your feedback. The closure of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal affected many of our guests but thankfully we have been able to relocate everyone. The Stourport Ring is a challenge in a week and perhaps the Droitwich Ring may have suited you better. We hope we will be able to welcome you back aboard soon.

Boat was spotless, well designed, we were well briefed. Mattress with pinging springs and needed replacing so sleep was an issue. Also a very rude grumpy man who lives on Ulysses needs to go to charm school. The ladies were all delightful and we would deffo book again as was relaxing and weather was warm and sunny! Great views of the canal side

There were no level guages for water, fuel or waste tanks. The lack of this for water in particular, meant we were always trying to find a water filling point.

Thank you for your feedback. During the boat handover customers should be advised to fill up with water daily, where possible. Marina staff can advise on where the water points are or if you have a map/guide then the water points will be included. All of our hire boats leave the Marina with a full tank of fuel which is more than enough for those taking a holiday of a week or less. Wonderful holiday ...however would have helped to have more moorings available along the route especially between Denver sluice and March ... we only made it to Ely as tide times affected planned route ...

Holidays from March are slightly different from our other hire bases as you are mostly cruising on the river and will be affected by tide times. We do advise customers to contact March before their holiday to discuss the lock timings and how they will affect their route. A great holiday. Lots of belly laughs.... despite one or two stressful moments!! Certainly not boring! We met some lovely people. Loved the peace and the countryside ... but also enjoyed visiting pubs. We loved it so much that we have put in an offer on one of the barges at Aldermaston. Exciting times ahead! Lots to learn. Looking forward to time away with my husband and friends.
