Thank you for your review. It is disappointing to hear that you lost some cruising time during your holiday. We have received some feedback from the Marina and they have confirmed that the first call out was due to a trip switch being turned off and the second was down to the new engine, which needed to be run a little slower. ABC employees were very helpful & professional. The boat (Long Tailed Duck) did have a few issues - during heavy rain, water dropped onto one of the rear beds making the bedding & matress wet (during the night whilst the passenger was sleeping). The kitchen layout was not as convenient as previous boats we have hired - all cupboards were at floor level, bowls were very large, with unnecessarily wide brims (inappropriate for such a small space) & the kitchen double bed was awkward to assemble. Also, the side of the cupboard area protruded into the walking space & our legs often brushed against it.

HI quality service. Nicely equipped, clean, well-maintained boat. Lovely, welcoming, friendly, helpful service, support, information and advice from the team. A couple of suggestions that would have made this holiday even more perfect: 1. A later boat return time would have been nice so we could have travelled from further away on that last day. 2. It would have been great if the canal cruising guide book was provided free as part of the boat hire, rather than us having to buy it. It seems a bit daft that each passenger has to buy a copy (we have brought ours back to NZ and probably won't get to use it again!)

When booking we do try and give as much information to our customers about possible routes and will point them in the direction of our website and the canal and river trust. The boat was beautifully clean and prepared, our only criticism was the lack of storage space for clothing. On our return, the cleaning lady said that there was space to store under the beds, but lifting up the mattress to access daily needs is not very practical. We chose the boat as we were two couples, and the configuration was ideal, but we do not consider the bunks over the double beds or the bed in the living space are practical. Anyone looking to use the full capacity advertised would have real problems.
