The layout of the boat for two couples was fantastic, bedrooms at each end and then bathrooms and then the kitchen area in the middle. No matter which couple woke first, they could go and make a cuppa. Staff at the Wharf really friendly and helpful, we are likely to use them again and go the other way from the Wharf next year as we were all so pleased with the service we got.

when we called Hilperton arena on the Saturday at lunch time as rope was stuck in the propeller staff were not helpful. We had no heating on the Saturday afternoon until sunday evening when we was able to contact the arena due to no phone reception Also we was not told that not to use too many electric switches at the same time as they would not work, so again we was unable to blow dry our hair and charge our phones. Kettle desperately needs descaling

Thank you for your feedback. The Marina have confirmed that they did speak to you about the rope caught on the propeller and they then talked you through clearing it yourselves, they did ask you to call back if you needed further assistance. The on board manual does give clear instruction on how to check the weed hatch as this is a task that should be carried out daily. After talking you through some checks it was found that the heating was working and so the Marina staff were unable to determine why it hadn't worked for you the day before. We do advise customers not to run too many electrical items all at once as the 240v system does have some limitations. Hilperton Marina do have a cleaning regime for their kettles but as they are in a particularly chalky area limescale does build up quickly. Everything was very good but we felt that there ought to have been a folding camp stool so 8 of us could have sat round one table. We used our portable BBQ box for the 8th person which was uncomfortably too low. Maybe fold out steps (library stool type) with a seat, clipped under the side 'doors' to have a double use?

This was a brilliant family holiday and despite some awful weather we all loved the experience. My criticism is simple, I paid for 4 days holiday. I arrived at the stated time of 2pm on the Friday, we had a long hand over time which I don't resent, however it was 4.45 by the time we were leaving the marina. Added to which the boat had to be back at the marina by 9am on the Monday morning! (The fear of God almost stuck in to me by the marina staff) I felt short changed by a whole day of my holiday. This last morning of our holiday, Monday, was the only day of beautiful weather on our holiday, and I spent the very early section of the day cleaning the boat, as I was told it had to be returned in the exact condition we received it in, whilst my husband drive us the last section of the journey. I was driving on the m6 homeward at 9.30 on the last day of my holiday. Not what I paid for.

It is disappointing to hear that you felt short changed by the start/finish times of your holiday, we do clearly state these times on our website and at the time of booking. It is necessary for our boats to be returned to the Marina at 9am so that they can be re-fuelled, pumped out, cleaned, filled with water and all maintenance checks completed ready for the next hire at 2:30pm. As first time hirers you will receive a longer handover, our Marina staff have a responsibility to ensure that each crew leaving the Marina are fully trained and competent. We are pleased to hear that you loved the experience and If you do decide to make another booking the handover process will be much quicker!

The service we received was brilliant - very friendly, helpful staff and a "no trouble at all" attitude. The boat was immaculate and a real pleasure to be aboard. Very well equipped and easy to use. It was a pleasure to hire.

This was our 4th canal boat trip..(3rd with ABC). We were on a 3 night break. The boat wasn't the best we've hired. Quite old. We were told not to touch the heating as it might night come back on! The noise kept us awake during the night. Unfortunately we were caught by Storm Hannah and the boat leaked over the bed! (But at least we were warm!!) On the Sunday morning the boat wouldn't start and we had to call the engineer.

Thank you for your feedback. The Marina Manager has confirmed that a member of staff did come out to investigate the issues you were having and found that the engine was being run with the ignition switch off, resulting in the batteries not charging. The Manager thinks that there must have been a misunderstanding about the radiators, it was possible for you to turn the heating on/off but he advised not to adjust them individually. We do hope you will be back for a 4th holiday with us again soon.
