Excellent organisation, communication, equipment on board, provided by your company. Our first ever experience on a narrow boat. Could not have been better. The weather was also exceptional!!

beautiful stretch of canal. friendly and informative instructors.1st time we've been on a barge holiday, all the family really enjoyed it and would do it again.

very efficient friendly company nice clean boat and "insrtructor" had character and a good attitude Only minor criticism is there was room for a slightly larger tv nad the reprogramming was a nuisance , can the reception be improved with abetter ariel but in the round very good , will be returning

Whole experience, from selecting a narrowboat through to collecting and then returning it, was excellent. The Marina team were friendly and professional, engaging with all members of our party, old and young. We wold happily use again

My friends and I book a canal trip every year... Brilliant time. Boat excellent. Fully equipped. Staff helpful and friendly. Great route up to Braunston Turn and back down to Stoke Breune Flight. Roll on 2019's trip. Awooga!

We take a boating holiday once a year. Our first trip was in 2003. From the same base on the Crested Lark. We vary our routes and bases, trying not to repeat previously traveled stretches. This year we were amazed how well the boat had been prepared. As good as many hotels we have stayed in. The new wider single beds are so much more comfortable. All in all the boat has set new standards for us. The trip itself was around the Stourport Ring missing the Wolverhampton bit. Weather was very good, scenery great. A superb mixture of urban and countryside mixed with a big dose of social history. Highly recommended.

Personalen var mycket trevlig och tillmötesgående, servicen snabb och exakt. Den tänkta kanalrutten var en mycket vacker och minnesvärd upplevelse. Tyvärr var själva båten (gul båt) inte så rolig. Den var ganska sliten och saknade sittmöjligheter både i för och akter...där man gärna VILL sitta. Vi har haft mycket trevligare båtar tidigare (grön/röd variant). Vi hade otrolig tur med vädret, vilket ändå gjorde det hela till en fantastisk upplevelse

T Hi Trudi, Just to let you know what a great week we had on the Ashes Lark. image1.JPG We stayed at Upton, Pershore , Bidford and the Fleet Inn. We went up to Warwick Castle for a day of Dungeons and Jousting. The river came up into the red zone due to thunderstorms in the night, so all the weirs were impressive. The engine ran like a top, and brought us through some tricky spots. Ashes was comfortable in every way, certainly more room than our 34 ft sailboat with this busy crew. Suggestion......we worried about returning to the Worcester base in time. This was especially so when we found ourselves stuck with 7 boats at the Marlcliff lock, many of whom were somewhat nervous about moving up or down at high water. There was a 4 hr hiatus while this played itself out, whence we got through and went downstream with no problem. There was a lack of realtime information about water levels,and plenty of gossip. Our suggestion is to set up an info channel with each hire boat,to help less experience folk . Mobile phone text might work well. Also.... we would like to do one way trips to avoid this return anxiety, and see more canal. Could this be arranged with other clients so we all start and finish somewhere, and the boat returns to your base every say two or three weeks. ? This would require service points along the way, but we could all experience a longer sections of canal or river. In these days of internet it should be possible to schedule if you could work out the service side, perhaps with other hire firms along a route. Wifi was dissapointing...hardly worked for us. Luckily we had mobile & sim cards too. 2. A list of Web sites for current river info would have been useful. 3. On board Laminated detail maps of river and of tie ups , good walks ,other enroute info would be good. 4. We needed to know a bit more about boat etiquette , such as tying alongside, is it ok, is it to expected. ? We did meet some very uncooperative vessels in one place,and were very surprised as sailors are pretty obliging generally.

It sounds as if you had a great adventure on Ashes Lark! Our Marina's will always wait for confirmation from CRT before advising guests about stoppages but of course customers can contact the Marina at any time if they are concerned. We do offer one way trips at the beginning and end of the season, please contact the Booking Office if you would like to receive emails about these trips. Thank you for your detailed feedback.

Had a lovely time scenery was at times stunning.Just a couple of things i think it would be a big help if there was a fuel and water gauge also the bathroom door handle was broken before we left the marina we were not told 3 day's into our holiday it broke again disappointing also we the windows on the boat very dirty

The staff at Gailey were friendly and very helpful. The boat was ready for us on our arrival. It was clean and we were offered extra bedding and towels for our two week holiday. However the boat broke down twice (oil warning sender unit and broken throttle cable) which in total delayed us by 5 hours.
