The service provided in the boatyard is as good and as friendly and helpful as you will find anywhere. I have hired boats from Gaily before and would willingly do so again.

We loved the relaxed journey and the wonderful scenery, plenty of places to stop on our way to Brecon, not to mention the odd canal side pub.

We had a lovely time. The boat was in good working order with nice little touches added (A copy of a Book of British birds, for example). It fitted the whole crew of 10 and there was plenty of deck space for us all. Steering was good and the engine was nearly new. Nothing broke down/wasn't to expectations. Routes out of the boatyard were good for beginners and not too many locks if that is not your thing.

The boat layout was excellent, with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, separated by kitchen/dining/living space; an ideal layout in our opinion. Boat was clean and well equipped. Orientation was friendly, concise and well organized. No problems with boat whatsoever. Only negative was internet was either not working or non-existent.

Boat had been occupied by a dog before us, windows on inside were "Dog". Cooker flap was broken. One set of sheets was a single bottom and there were no sheets for 2nd week. Still had a great time.

We had a fantastic few days. My only criticism would be that the decor is looking very tired and needs updating, especially the curtains, some of which had mould on them.

Great weekend. The Owl was well maintained and all the facilities needed. The staff were very professional and informative. Peaceful and relaxing way to spend a few days.
