Fantastic holiday!!! We travelled from Hilperton to Bristol Floating Harbour, 2 night stay and then returned.. None of our party (3 couples) had ever been narrow boating, but found it to be totally awesome. The boat seemed a bit daunting when we first saw it (69 feet) but we quickly settled with it. Everybody got involved with locks and steering making a fun experience for all of us. Found people to be helpful on and off the canal. Can not fault Canal and River Trust workers and volunteers as very helpful and knowledgeable. Staff at Hilperton were very helpful and got us on our way quickly. Generally the holiday was great. We knew what to expect having been narrow-boating for many years. There were a small number if "niggles" - the set of keys we had turned out to be for a different boat which meant we couldn't use the on-board "safe" (and presumably neither could the hirers of the other boat as they had our keys) and most of the swing locks on the opening windows had parts missing which meant that it was difficult to fasten them in the closed position to keep the "midgies" out in the evening. Having said all that - The boat handled very well, the level of on-board equipment was good, the beds very comfortable and we had a great holiday. Thank you.

The boat in basis was good, but we could notice this is an older boat which means there were a few minor maintenance and technical issues. However we enjoyed our holiday and the staff at Blackwater Meadow Marina was really kind and helpful.

Everything was perfect, boat was clean and worked perfectly. The canal is very scenic if shallow off the centre line... but that is all part of the experience. Highly recommended.

Fabulous week- harder work than it would have been if the Cheshire Ring was open- but we got to Marple to see our 92 year old dad& back in 1 week with a bit of application- great week......would have preferred a newer boat but no issues despite her age!

Staff made us most welcome. The boat although battle scarred was immaculate, warm and cosy inside. We all had fun steering the boat and working the locks despite the weather which was cold and damp. The views from the canal are stunning and travelling at 2 mph can be enjoyed. We all enjoyed the 3 days and have memories that will last a lot longer. Please thank all your team. The boat was fully equiped en very easy to handel. The inside looked like new. The people from Anderton marina helpt us friendly on our way. There was not much traffic on the canal and there were plenty of quit mooring places. We had a very relaxing holiday.
