The staff were very helpful and polite. The boat is very tired, in need of painting and general updating. The beds are very worn and uncomfortable. We were informed that there were new mattresses but feel this must have been quite a few years ago now.

Weather could have been better. The stourport loop involves a lot of locks some of them pretty tricky and this is not a holiday for faint hearted or anyone looking for a rest. Loved the country bits and fab going through centre Birmingham but some of the Birmingham leg was a bit grotty. All in all an adventure we will never forget.

The team at the marina were brilliant.. really kind and helpful helping us sort a route and get loaded and unloaded. The Swan was well equipped but has seen better days and is really a bunk house on a boat though you have to expect if you hire a boat for 12!

Instruction was good, staff was friendly. A day is lost due checking in late in the day and the need to returning early, this maybe an area that can be improved.

Challenging but fun experience on a 4-day trip along Grand Union canal, peaceful and enjoyable whilst meeting lovely people and pubs along the way. Would look for an upgraded boat for a little more comfort next time. ABC Boats weee very helpful and knowledgable staff. Thoroughly recommend such a holiday in the UK.

This is our 5th trip with ABC Boat Hire and specifically the Scops Owl and it is always a highlight of the year. We book from Blackwater marina and spend a relaxing and occasionally boozy long weekend sailing to Llangollon and back from Friday to Monday, enjoying food and drink in the friendly canalside pubs en route. The locks and tunnels that you will come across are fun changes to the otherwise stunning scenery the trip provides. The real highlight is the pontcysyllte aquaduct, marvelling at the stunning views and incredible engineering. The loyalty discount is a real plus to encourage return trips, plus the early booking discount is great. Communication from booking up to the day is excellent. The boat is always clean and ready. The staff are friendly. Myself and my other 9 friends who regularly set sail could not recommend more and having been booking with ABC Boat hire since 2014. Thanks for another wonderful weekend and looking forward to seeing you again next year. Matt
