Unfortunately we had to curtail the trip to 4 days because of my wife's medical condition. Obviously disappointed not to get to Llangollen, but will try again in the future

Been with ABC before so expected their usual high quality service. I wasn't disappointed. The boat was lovely and clean and waiting for us when we arrived. The staff at Goytre Wharf were friendly and efficient and once the handover was done we were soon on our way. No problems at all with the boat during the week and the return process at the end of the week was just as easy as the start. Highly recommended.

The Mon & Brec canal is pleasant and scenic, particularly where it winds its way through the Brecon Beacons. The whole length, from Cwmbran to Brecon, is amongst fields and trees. Sadly, very few boats go south to Cwmbran but we did and can recommend doing so - on the map it looks built up but in reality you hardly see any houses and its green all the way. It also gives the opportunity to explore the start of the unrestored locks at Cwmbran as they work down towards the river. The only thing to be aware of is that the canal here is a bit shallow and progress can be slower than in other parts so allow a bit of extra time. There is plenty of time to travel to Cwmbran, then to Brecon and back to Goytre in a week. There are a number of canal side pubs to eat in and we enjoyed 3 excellent meals during the week. All in all, an excellent trip.
