Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Daniel was amazing and assisted us on a couple of occasions. The boat had everything we needed.

Whilst the boat and equipment was as usual very good we found the layout of the table and seating to be very difficult to get in and out for 4 adults and the extra metal chairs most uncomfortable. Previous boats have been much better for dining. My other complaint is that whilst a small table was provided to sit at the front of the boat for drinks etc, the seating was uncomfortable and the provision of some padded covers would have been welcome.

The entire team at Springhaven were superb. From the welcome from Sue, the walk through with Mark and the setting off with Steve. Special mention to the cleaning team. The boat was spotless on collection and everything just perfect. I would recommend hiring boats from this marina without any hesitation at all. 5*.

For the second year running and not their fault due to Kennet & Avon canal being flooded we were efficiently moved to a different marina and were able to keep our holiday week.

Our 6th time out of Goytre Wharf but our first time on a Finch class boat so we were a little worried that it might feel small and cramped but that wasn't the case at all and having a rear galley is so much more sociable.

Fantastic boat, less than 12 months old, very well equipped. Great service from Matt, especially for calling and allowing us to take the boat early. Also great service from Zak who very capably took us through the boat’s facilities and piloted us out of the marina, all on his first day at Nantwich marina.

The boat was spotless and they were ready for us even tho we arrived an hour early. The instruction was thorough and they stayed on the boat with us to get out of the hairy busy bits near the marina. We went from Ellesmere to Trevor and back in 4 nights. We decided to bus from Trevor to Llangollen so we would have time to do the old railway trip and look around for half a day. 15 mins each way versus 3 hours each way cruising. This was a good decision for us with the time and a toddler. The trip was amazing, such beautiful scenery, so much wildlife and it REALLY slows you down with the pace of travel. Everyone on the waterways is so friendly and my 3yo was so popular waving at everyone it was lovely. I think this trip/route is the best of all with the variety of things to experience - 2 locks, 2 tunnels and 2 aqueducts each way. I had looked at hiring from multiple locations along the route but I believe Blackwater meadow worked the best in terms of getting to grips with the boat before tackling any obstacles which helped with driver confidence. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct was absolutely mind blowing! What an amazing experience!! A family trip of a lifetime! Thank you Blackwater Meadow team!
