We hired the Mandarin Duck for a long weekend over Easter. There were 4 adults and 2 children (5 and 12). Boat was well equipped and comfortable. Still early in the season so a bit chilly outside but the boat was very toasty with the central heating. Warm welcome on arrival and great handover from all the staff. It was our first outing on a canal boat so felt a little apprehensive but very quickly got the gist of the locks and steering the boat. Our preferred route had to change due to all the rain and river Severn being flooded but still an enjoyable route leaving Worcester Marina up to Stoke Prior and return. The turn around at Stoke Prior was tricky but luckily there were volunteer canal wardens to help and our skipper managed it with ease. We stopped on the second night near Hanbury Junction (turning for Droitwich canal) and had dinner in the Eagle & Sun which was very nice. Overall a lovely experience and we would love to do it again. We would recommend ABC Boat Hire and looking to book again in the future.

Excellent handover, route planning, cleanliness of boat with everything working and in place, very friendly team. Canal was shallow in places, but all added to the enjoyment of the holiday

I am in my 27th year of hiring from yourselves and have always found the boat on receipt to be well prepared. The team at Goytre Wharf were exceptional in regards to friendliness, handover procedure, route information and on return. The boat was immaculate and everything worked as it should. It was really lovely. Unfortunately there had been a breach on the canal route we had planned but we were helped with a new route to meet our wishes. Such a peaceful route.

The boat was well equipped and comfortable however it could have been cleaner when we picked it up, and we had to ask for a new Hoover which was blocked with dirt and a new tin opener which was rusty. Also we had to wait quite a while for our handover when we arrived which delayed us leaving. These things did not however seriously detract from our holiday which we enjoyed, and we would go with ABC again.

Well-maintained narrowboats, clean and well equipped. Staff cheerful and very helpfull.

Always a good trip had on our narrowboat holidays. The only downer was that the excessive winter rain this year meant that some of the tow paths were pretty boggy for our dog walks, but ABC can't be blamed for that!

From beginning to end, it was a fantastic holiday and we are hooked! From the app counting down to the holiday to pulling the boat back in to the marina to finish our holiday, every minute was a joy. The people we met at Whitchurch marina were fantastic and so friendly. We felt confident in what they taught us and helped encourage when we had a wobbly start down the canal (due to my driving and mixing up left and rights! Haha) By the second day, we felt like pros and every day, we got better and better at tackling locks, bridges and winding holes. Life on the canals is so peaceful and we met some fantastic people with some amazing stories to tell. We loved being able to get up in the morning with little to no plan other than which pub to stop off at for dinner and mooring in the beautiful countryside and waking up to birds singing and a few curious sheep and cows watching from the fields. I can't wait to book out next holiday and for anyone thinking of booking, do it! You will have an amazing time and make lots of memories :)
