Its the 2nd time I have used ABC boat hire they are always very helpful, communication is excellent and respond swiftly. The boats are well equipped, clean and a full briefing is given.

We had the best time on the Brecon Beacons Canal very beautiful . The boat was adequate but dated and we saw much nicer ones so we are not sure about recommending abc we have a few friends interested atm . The boat we took had just had a dog in it and it smelt of dog for people without dogs it was off putting and unpleasant . One towel isn’t quite enough for a week when you come from overseas you cannot bring your own reality. The tv didn’t work it couldn’t pick up signals . We totally enjoy the trip the canal was stunning just the boat we bought outdoor chairs on trip because you need them on the tow path to sit in the shade .

The onboard TV has been checked and is in full working order. However, due to the remote nature of the canal, signal reception can vary significantly depending on your location along the route—something that is, unfortunately, beyond our control in certain areas. We’re pleased to welcome pets aboard our boats, and we take cleanliness very seriously. All boats are thoroughly cleaned between hires, but we’re sorry to hear that a pet odour affected your experience. Had this been brought to our attention during your holiday, our team would have been happy to attend the boat canalside or arrange a transfer to another boat if available. Your comments have been shared directly with our housekeeping team to reinforce our standards across the fleet. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. Fantastic service from ABC boat hire. They answered all questions I had via email before the day. Thorough handover on the day including how to do 360 degree turn before leaving the marina which was our biggest worry. Everything included in the boat and very straight forward. Excellent route to Fradley junction and back to King's Orchard.

We have previously been 3 times with ABC and were looking forward again to the great service and well prepared boat. Unfortunately this was not the case this time in Aldermaston. On arrival we were told that the Kennet and Avon was blocked an we could not pass Crofton Lock because of damage and we should choose an alternative route. We later found out that this was only a temporary hitch and CRT were able to fix the lock on the same day. I feel that a little more research by the staff at Aldermaston could have qualified this. Before the handover we noticed that the ceiling was falling down because all of the screws had been removed. In fact many screws were found to be missing throughout the boat. Then we noticed that there was no spare linen which we had asked for, so we had to wait As we left Aldermaston a brief look around the boat was very disappointing. One of the toilets stank. The windows were filthy and generally speaking the cleanliness was not up to the standard we previously experienced with ABC. So, we set off up the Thames and informed the staff of our route. On reaching Henley we could not moor as a 1 day mooring would have costed £750 for one night. because of the regatta. I think we could have been advised not to go to Henley on this date by ABC. On the day of return we found that the stinky toilet had in fact overflowed although the green light above the toilet was still green, i.e. it did not change to red. the contents had spilled out over the floor and ruined my baggage. I had to leave the boat and sleep in my van on the last night. All in all my experience on this trip was not very impressive and I am in doubt concerning future bookings with ABC.

The boat was not to a suitable standard that we have come to expect from ABC. There was a strong smell of human effluent in the kitchen. It was evident on our return that the boats are not being serviced to an acceptable standard
