Would be 5 stars but some issues with boat. Mainly 1 unusable shower which we had to gaffer tape, and other bathroom smelling increasingly worse as week went on

ABC Boat Hire were extremely helpful and service-minded throughout. The journey gave us many memorable experiences and was a wonderful way to explore the canal. However, navigating through all the locks involves a considerable amount of physical work, so this is not the holiday for anyone expecting to spend the whole trip lying on the foredeck sipping drinks!

We were apprehensive at the forced late unscheduled change of starting location, but the western end of the Kennet and Avon gave us a very enjoyable 4 days booked as a celebration of my 80th birthday.. It gave the younger members of the crew plenty of opportunity to learn to operate locks and swing bridges and enjoy the adventure of a boating holiday. The boat, although obviously cramped for 9 people, had everything needed for a successful holiday. The marina staff were very friendly and helpful.

The boat was clean and well presented. Plenty of thought given to layout of the boat, equipment and utensils. The staff apologised for water works being undertaken for the breach repairs which they didn't have to. Clear instructions for handling the boat and basic daily checks to be performed. The boat performed well and was simple to operate.
