Leisurely motored the full length of the Ashby canal.. In my opinion, one of the prettiest canals in the UK. Wood Lark with its semi traditional stern made the perfect boat especially with two rather curious dogs on board.

We was told we would have no problems with fuel or the toilets on our 1 week break, both toilets were full on our return and I had to pay extra for fuel after our holiday, this was after paying £90 up front for fuel, other companies I notice include free fuel

From start to finish ABC boat hire was a great experience. The staff in Wrenbury Mill Marnia were very welcoming and helpful. We shall be booking again!

Free internet was misleading as it is in fact limited which was a big disappointment TV signal was poor throughout our trip we would have been able to stream TV to our devices if not limited

5th year canal boating with ABC from different marinas. Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Great boats and very helpful staff at all the marinas we have used. This year one of the locks on the route we took had a problem and the marina phoned to warn us. Fortunately lock was fixed so not a big delay.

Good trip. Some very narrow parts and shallow banks causing some grounding and some awkward manoevering but good for gaining skills. Scenery lost in some of the deep cuttings but pretty much everyone met on the canal were both friendly and very helpful. Water points sometimes hard to find due to overgrown banks and limited signage. Not many locks which was good and those we used were generally in good order. Know your route, map or decent app a definite, as could miss turn or water point etc otherwise.

Very disappointed with briefing at marina , not particularly friendly staff. Very dirty inside the boat: we asked about a hoover was told there should be one in there somewhere??? No offer of doing it for us? We started hoovering and it stunk of wet dog, so her then changed it for a different one. The shelves in wardrobe were really dirty when we wiped them before putting our clothes in. We had leak under kitchen sink which soaked everything in dirty dishwasher water… the pipe wasn’t connected!! In one of the shower rooms the sink was leaking it leaked all on shelf underneath and soaked an expensive hairdryer, which caused it to blow up! On arriving back to marina again not at tall friendly or helpful, I must say completely different to the previous year at black water meadow.
