The scenery was beautiful, good number of locks. Fairly clean canal. Lots of pubs along the canal. However, the boat was receiving a repair when we arrived so we were delayed. Then we were told that the doors at front of boat were broken. I insisted on them fitting a new lo k as you couldn't actually close the doors. We were given a sheet to stuff the hole to minimise drafts. But I wanted a lock. This was done but the guys were keen to go and retrieve another boat which had been abandoned, so it was left to an unskilled helper, who was very lovely, but this needed a bigger job really. The inverter which had been replaced switched off constantly but after calling out for assistance, we were shown how to reset this. Temperature went down to 2 degrees and so it was very cold not having a door which could be shut !!!! For the price a week costs on the boat, this should be upgraded

We enjoyed the holiday. However the boat was a bit 'tired' and in need of upgrade. We paid the same amount as last year, but the previous boat was far superior

Could have done better by advising us that the route we wanted to take was no longer available due to a land slip, when they knew about it at least two days before rather than wait until we arrived on the day of departure. After a five hour journey we arrived in reception to be told we couldn’t go where we had paid for and planned . We had arranged visits from family at various points along the way which could no longer be done. I only give 3 stars because the land slip was not their fault but given their total lack of communication prior to our arrival and a rushed presentation of where we could and couldn’t go together with an old map to follow, it was only Phil’s calm assistance in showing us around the boat that helped to take a bad taste away. This is our second booking with ABC and may be our last.

From start to finish everything was handled well. We were about to go with another company but ABC did a deal to price match. The only quibble is that the price of the competitor was inclusive of fuel (which I explained) and at the end of the trip I still had to pay for excess fuel, so the price match was not quite a price match. All of the staff, both at the point of sale and at the marina were exceptionally good. We had a few problems with wifi but these were sorted out within a couple of hours of us setting off.

We were plesantly surprised at how lovely this canal is. Went through some lovely villages. The scenery is beautiful from Fradley to Great Haywood
