Very friendly staff at marina. Our boat was very clean and well equipped with plenty of towels supplied for the 2 weeks. Very efficient central heating and excellent TV signal throughout the holiday.

The onboard information book was excellent, the initial instruction given was excellent. Disappointed by the overall state of the canals eg towpaths that were unusable due to deep thick mud.As for the boat ,the mop bucket was split depositing water all over the floor which also meant that even though we had to mop the decks 4 or 5 times a day due to the mud and rain we could not use the mop ringer attachment and had to resort to ringing it out by hand.The cooker knobs were worn and caused problems in controlling the gas flow.The biggest problem we experienced was even though we followed the instructions to the letter the forward toilet was not usable on all nights of the holiday, including the first one, due to it failing to **** out but would fill up with water potentially flooding.We had the toilet pumped out but made no difference at all..The second toilet on the boat had no issues at all but could not use it ourselves at night because we did not wish to disturb our fellow shipmates which is why we paid for two onsuites. Although we have had canal holidays before if this is where we are with this type of holiday now we shall not be doing it again as it is an expensive outlay against a land based vacation because of the problems we incurred .

We have used many hire companies over the last 15 years or more and I would rate ABC as good as or better than most. Booking and general contact with the company was straightforward and without fuss. The boat handover was efficient and the boat itself was very comfortable and ran smoothly. I can't think of anything negative to comment about. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday!

ABC Boat Hire were absolutlely excellent from start to finish. We felt totally welcomed and supported throughout our 1 week journey. Our narrowboat was excellent and a joy to travel in. I highly recommend ABC Boat Hire for anyone interested in having a narrowboat holiday. This was a very special holiday and such an ideal way to spend time with family and friends.
