Lovely boat (Savi's Warbler) delivered in good order. Enjoyed the briefing from Kate and the on board tutorial from, er, Matt? "Welcome pack" suggested maybe tea coffee and a bottle of wine but sadly 2 grand only gets you a couple of cloths, a washing up brush and a **** sewing kit! Provided waterproofs were ancient and about as waterproof as a string vest. Black mark abc Had a great week doing the anticlockwise Black Country Ring which I would recommend to anyone, warnings about possible antisocial behaviour in certain areas proving unfounded. Met a young woman walking along the towpath who pointed at our boat and shouted to us "that's my name!" We think she meant Savi! Pubs along the way ok rather than great, beer generally boring fizz or the ubiquitous (and ghastly) Doom Bar. Still, canalside drinks are always a lovely way to while away an hour. One tip: if it's yellow, let it mellow, or you'll be looking for a pump out!

There was insufficient available and good bankside mooring (apart from Devizes which was excellent); The canal banks were too insecure in many places and it was difficult to get sufficiently close to disembark safely (this was largely due to the fact that there were many boats moored in official 2 day moorings that had not moved in two days!)

I would recommend them. Only niggle was the lack of water between ABC and Newbury and difficulty getting water from ABC when passing by them after hours. Otherwise excellent service.

As above- Instructional advice on use of canal locks explained in detail and understood for a beginner such as myself. The handover of the boat was explained in detail. Customer Services were extremely friendly and most helpful, therefore making the start of my trip relaxing.

Unfortunately slightly limited due to low water levels, but lots of locks towards Nantwich and three tunnels towards Runcorn - great fun. All very peaceful and soothing.

Good hire from ABC hire. My only criticism it would of been nice to have had more tutorial and as I thought we would have someone take us out of the marina and to the first bridge. A few items were missing from the inventory. The bed could of been comfier. The springs in the mattress were awful.

Reception and initial instruction/help was faultless, despite it happening during heavy rain. We were given comprehensive notes on how everything worked and the "welcome" package got us started off very easily. The only negative aspect due to ABC was that the WiFi code/password was expired - this proved a bonus as the children we had with us learned to play lots of old card games instead of sitting in front of their i-pads :D The other negative was unavoidable; due to low water levels, parts of the canal system were "locked off". There were still plenty of places we could get to - and did.
