I phoned the boat a few times, to ask questions about various thing and each time got all the answers and guidance that I needed. About routes and items on the boat. Was warmly welcomed when we arrived and shown the necessary safety induction.

We've been boating for over 20 years and sadly now there are more boats on the system. there are so many moored boats for miles on end which makes the journey slightly less pleasant.

We had a good trip from Aldermarston to Oxford and back. We have rented two other canal boats from other companies in the past and whilst we had a pleasant trip, I would not say the boat or service was as good as others. However don't be put off as this location is great for an Oxford trip, combining both the canal and the river.

Already explained in previous comment about the WiFi access being the only problem. Everything else was great.

ABC gave a good service in terms of the quality of the boat and the communication/information they gave during booking and when starting the holiday. The only thing they could have done better to get 5 stars is sort out the WiFi signon on the boat. It needs a MUCH easier sign-on process: ABC supply a password code number which is fine, but there is no excuse for also expecting customers to enter personal details like name, email address, etc. And even worse is that every time the WiFi drops out/you leave the boar/your phone goes to sleep, the system makes you go through the same protracted signon procedure to regain access. Eventually it seemed like we were spending so much time re-signing on that it wasn't worth using the WiFi and we had to use mobile phone data instead. An acceptable process would be we sign onto the WiFi with the passcode once, and then it remembers your device has signed in and automatically re-connects you whenever the WiFi has dropped out.

Our.first ever canal boating experience was a wonderful 3 nights on the grand Union canal in glorious summer sunshine. As four novices we were excited if a little apprehensive about taking charge of a 66ft long boat that was to be our home for the weekend but everything was explained and demonstrated to us at the handover. We quickly got the hang of things and enjoyed the adventure of going through flights of locks and the mile long Bronston Tunnel.
