We were on the Syrian Woodpecker out of Aldermaston. The interior of the boat was poorly designed. There was not enough room to walk along the aisles without turning sideways all the time and the space to get into the bench seat behind the table was about 5 inches wide making it extremely difficult to get into and out of the table to eat. The gas ran out some evenings, apparently because the cut-off valve was overheating during the day, which meant that we couldn't cook at night. One of the water pumps broke down during the day, but luckily there was a back up. Having said all that, the service from the team at Aldermaston was excellent and despite the above, I would use ABC again.

Boats although not new are in good condition and well equipped. Service is also good. However, our boat seem to have very heavy steering.

We had alternative routes in case of water shortage or what have you. Had to wait for 3 days at the bottom of Marple flight. It would be closed by the 24. Same with Bosley. Pity we had to rush cause I like Macclesfield a lot. We did the four counties without problems, and having time to spare we spent 3 nights in Chester. We had done it all before, but we really had a lovely 4 weeks
