We was complete novices, when we booked our weekend away, we was advised which size boat would suit our requirements. On our arrival day, we was promptly booked in & given advise & additional information about weekend, shown maps & a brief of the locks & canal etiquette. We was then handed over to Richard whom talked us through the whole boat & showed us what we need to do each day & self help if we get stuck. He went through all parts of the boat inside & out. The boat was perfect, we had such a wonderful experience, apart from a mishap with a tyre (not our or ABC’s fault) but it was dealt with, with great efficiency by Roy. Would we do it again? YES Would we select a different boat? NO Would we try a different area? Possibly, maybe for longer.

Liked the separate shower (rather than in a bath). Magnetic door hooks very good idea if a bit on the fierce side! Could do with them to keep the cabin entrance doors closed when the sliding roof is open. Never got the hang of the TV tuning - instructions in the handbook would help

We enjoyed a weeks holiday with our dog to Llangollen and back. The boat and booking experience were excellent. We also visited Horseshoe Falls in Llangollen and enjoyed a delicious meal in The Swan at Marbury before returning the boat the following morning. However, the waste tank needed emptying at Whitchurch Marina on our first morning, which was unfortunate but dealt with efficiently by their staff. The full tank alarm returned before the end of the holiday with only two adults on board. Despite this issue we would be happy to book with ABC in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for a canal holiday.

All the staff on arrival were quite friendly, warmed up a little bit later. The induction was not that great, it amounted to just watching a couple of videos. It would have been much better to have had the manuel (that is located on the boat) and gone through each item. There was not much mentioned about the manuel and therefore was not until the end of the trip that we actually came across it as it had been covered with something dumped on it. On our boat we were all novices and had no clue what so ever - there was no guidance in the talk on how to tie up the boats - and when the hand over was being done it was indicated that the "Ladies" did not need to be in attendance - Good idea to have waterproofs available - they came in very handy - although above sounds a bit negative it was a good weekend but could have been made more enjoyable had we been better informed.

we were under the impression that the route we were taking was gently breaking us in - we started with 11 locks !!!!! this is far too many to go through on first day and all being novices
