As a group of 7 young men, we were surprised to find anywhere that'd let us take out a narrow boat without a hefty deposit. ABC at King's Orchard were extraordinarily helpful from planning the journey throughout our trip. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had the information and resources needed for our trip. The boat was in immaculate condition, even for a late season trip, with great facilities on board for cooking and impressive battery life. The King's Orchard location was also ideal, especially given the drought as it gave us a great range of options for different routes on different canals depending on what was open, providing a very useful safety net.

We travelled from Kings Orchard to Willington and back. Great trip. The mid section of this trip on the Trent & Mersey runs along by the A38, where the scenery is not as good with road noise. But Fradley Junction, Alrewas and Willington are beautiful. Nice places to moor overnight. Huddlesford has a turning point, plenty of mooring and a nice pub. Perfect to stay close by before returning the boat to Kings Orchard.

The boat was brand new and very well equipped. The bed linen and towels were clean and fresh. The service was polite and friendly.

We had an excellent holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our party of eight ranged in age from 6 to 60, and the boat was perfect for everyone. The boat was extremely well equipped, with everything you could possibly need, and the layout was spacious and well thought out. The beds were really comfortable, and there was plenty of storage space for all of us. The bathrooms were excellent, and the Wi-Fi worked very well throughout the boat, which was a real bonus. Overall, we had a fantastic time and couldn’t have asked for a better boat for our holiday. We would definitely recommend it!

Very accommodating and friendly staff. Really enjoyed our weekend learning how to do something new. The whole family really enjoyed working the locks. And met some lovely people!
